Roadmap to Cataclysm zone overhauls

We've been wondering about the level of change in each old-world zone for Cataclysm for months now, and the answer has actually been under our noses since BlizzCon. During the Art Panel, the above planning map was shown, along with some information to either side of it. We can't make out everything in it, but there's a lot of information if you know what you're looking at.
The zone colors, from what we can infer, indicate the level of overhaul each zone is receiving. Red is a heavy overhaul, yellow is moderate, green is light, and blue means a brand-new zone. The yellow stars indicate a dungeon, and the red stars indicate a raid. The white tabs each have a letter on them, indicating what in the zone was being changed at that particular point -- L for level, Q for quests, etc.
Astute readers will see some things jump out at them immediately, like Thousand Needles having two stars on it.
The full list of visible zone changes after the break, along with other pertinent info.
Disclaimer: While this image was captured during the BlizzCon 2009 Art Panel, the capture displays a photo taken by Blizzard staff, which is undated. We don't know if it was a day before BlizzCon 2009 or six months before. Things could have changed between when this picture was taken and when this article was published.

Seriously?
You guys never saw this? =\

Why was this down rated?
People have been discussing this picture since Blizzcon.
I have a lot of faith in wow.com and to think they did a slowpoke on us is a little disheartening.
Only thing I don't have faith in is the horrible comment system.
I never post any more because I always get rated down for no good reason.
Nick S Nov 5th 2009 10:11PM
The comment system is basically a popularity contest. People often downrate when they disagree, rather than when your comment is off-topic or offensive.
Adam Holisky Nov 5th 2009 10:45PM
Link me to an article like this.
Sumanai Nov 5th 2009 10:48PM
maybe it was downrated because it has zero value as a comment, it adds nothing to the discussion.
also, just because this isn't news for you it doesn't mean it isn't for everybody.
Deathgodryuk Nov 5th 2009 11:27PM
I'd never seen it elsewhere

To those that didn't see this before, just visit forums like EJ. This exact explanation was provided on Blizzcon Day 1 or Day 2 by one of the posters there. Sure it is not an article but then again, EJ is a forum, not a news site so I think it's valid.
Thing is, this has been on the Net for quite some time now, and not just on EJ forums.

Yeah this image + this explanation has been bouncing around ever since Blizzcon.
It's fairly well known but it's about time WoW.com official recognized it, skeptically, as it should be.

Having followed blizzcon news fairly closely, I had a pretty good idea of what would happen and had seen a few basic maps for how things would be laid out, but this exact map with this level of detail was new to me. I mean, everyone and their mother knows that the barrens is getting completely overhauled, but I never heard anything about an instance in 1000 needles.

This image adds a little more info to the same map: http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n219/leviathonlx3/CataclysmAzeroth.jpg

I personally hadn't seen this before.... but, just to play devil's advocate....
08-24-2009: http://www.mmo-champion.com/general-discussions/look-at-this-map-from-blizzcon-it-shows-which-zones-are-totally-redone/ "it looks to me that green largely corresponds to zones without major revamps, yellow are medium revamps, and red are major revamps"
LilBanshee Nov 6th 2009 8:52AM
08-25-2009: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=469817&page=4
"No idea what the colors mean, but the current guesses are blue is expansion, red is major changes, yellow is medium changes, green is leveling changes. Yellow stars are dungeons, red stars are raids."
LilBanshee Nov 6th 2009 8:52AM
08-29-2009: http://www.scrollsoflore.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5033 "Green: Minor changes like quest texts and objectives etc. Perhaps a new flight path or camp in zones with weird layout.
Yellow: Medium changes. Medium terrain change. Like Northern Barrens and Desolace. New quests etc.
Red: Completly changed with much new terrain, quests, settlements and mobs etc."
LilBanshee Nov 6th 2009 8:52AM
08-31-2009: http://worldofraids.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24904 "Blue = New stuff. Seems obvious
Red = Cataclysm changes at a high level
Yellow = A lot/medium cataclysmic changes
Green = Little to no changes"
LilBanshee Nov 6th 2009 8:54AM
And lastly:
10-19-2009: http://worldofraids.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25476&page=2 "Red - Massive revamp
Yellow - Medium amount of changes
Green - Little to no change"
Are any of these 'articles'? Not really, but there aren't that many WoW sites that communicate in that format, so that's not a very fair standard.

Adam Holisky got pwned. *giggedy giggedy-goo!*
Bubsa Nov 6th 2009 9:40AM
Just because WoW.com has sub par research doesn't mean its readers do as well.
OH SNA-AP

Continue downrating the ones that mention that this "news" is old, Wowinsider fanboys. I'm sure you'll get your cookies soon. In the meantime, you might want to take a look at something called "objectivity." Try and practise it sometime.
TheExplorer Nov 5th 2009 9:25PM
Awesome :D I was wondering what zones were being changed, and by how much. Thanks for this...best MMO news I've heard all day...actually week. lol
Josho Nov 6th 2009 4:34AM
Yes. Thank God, I was panicking that my favourite roleplay spots would be obliterated. This has certainly put those cataclsymic thoughts to rest :>
