WRUP: Of course we're playing WoW edition

- Alex Ziebart (@aziebart): We're trying to cap off Firefighter after a soul-crushing 1% wipe the other night, which will put us one step away from finally seeing Algalon. Grand Crusader Anub'arak and Algalon are the only bosses we haven't beaten in Wrath so far, so that's pretty exciting. Outside of WoW, I'm going to try getting a post or three up on my personal blog. I've been neglecting it.
- Allison Robert: Moar PvP, and with luck, getting past 1K+ resilience.
- C. Christian Moore (@TheArenaGuy): Going to do some BGs to gear up for #1. Just found a few people on my server who want it really badly and who aren't too shabby, so probably going to make a run playing rmpls in 5v5 and something with a hunter in 3v3. End of the season is probably growing close, always a great time for arena players. In real life, probably just going to work on some school work and spend time with the wife. Pretty boring weekend compared to going to the world series last week. :P
- Chase Christian (@madsushi): I'm with Alex, we cleared to Mimiron on Thursday and so Saturday is going to be Firefighter-or-bust for us, with the hopes of defeating Algalon before Icecrown is released.
- Christian Belt (@Ihatewarlocks): I'm working, but when I'm not working, I'll be playing Persona 3, because I'm about two years behind on my ever-deepening pile of unbeaten games.
- Dan O'Halloran: Currently sucked into playing the Diablo-clone Torchlight, but will sneak in some LotRO time as well my usual Friday night WoW Heroic Daily run. Desperately trying to not buy Dragon Age.
- Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): Dragon Age has me firmly in its talons. I'm playing a Dwarf Commoner Female Rogue and having a blast. Plus I have a doggy, which is awesome. I may try to peel myself away to check the Heroic daily at the least though. I still need Oculus to get the achievement, and I'd like it before it becomes a Feat of Strength in Patch 3.3.
- Dominic Hobbs (@DMZduffry): Three raids this weekend, looking to bag more progress kills. Also getting into Dead Space despite the horrific porting to PC.
- Eddie Carrington (@Brigwyn): I will be putting on my volunteer uniform and work on getting the word out for Azeroth United's Hearts, Hands and Voices for Child's Play. During my down time, it'll be back on my main to grind out more XP. I was thinking of trying some battlegrounds. But, who am I kidding! With only 13 honorable kills to my name, I'd end up 1 dead dwarf. It's probably best stick with quest grinding.
- Eliah Hecht (@eliah): Full-time Torchlight.
- Gregg Reece: Archery practice on Saturday morning. Otherwise, I'm just going to play things by ear and see where they go.
- Lisa Poisso (@eMused): Playing my level ?? tribrid-specced momadin to support a low-level human who's leveling her music spec: Two days' worth of Fed-Ex quests, interspersed with high-DPS encounters against elite Judge bosses, who can't be pulled without bringing huge packs of un-CC-able Arena Spectators. Leads to the [Tickle the Ivories] and [Looking Sharp!] achievements. Long quest chain, lots of time on the mount. Conjuring Mana Strudel now...
- Matt Low (@mattycus): I won't be doing much healing or WoWing this weekend. Rolled a Hunter on Borderlands. Reminds me of my old competitive counterstrike days when I was terrible with the AWP. Same feeling though without the losing consequences at least! At least I know I can still hit the broad side of a barn. Also grabbed Dragon Age. Haven't set it up yet. Can't decide between Dwarf Commoner or Dwarf Noble. Probably the latter!
- Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi): This week we mopped up various Achievements in Ulduar for drakes (almost there) and then I tanked Firefighter for the first time. Over the weekend I expect to be battling this stubborn fever boss. I also have a male and female character for every class and race combination in Dragon Age, which may be why I haven't gotten very far in the game yet.
- Michael Gray (@writegray): I'll be rocking out the FaerieCon vibe in Hunt Valley, MD.
- Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): I'll do my dailies like a good druid and I'll also waste some time on Cafe World, but mostly I'll be spending any "leisure" time on my NaNoWriMo project, Tragedy in Texas. So far, my writing has been completely tragic, so the meta name for the project should be Tragedy in California. /humbled
- Zach Yonzon (@battlemasters): Getting a race change for my Death Knight, finally, and maybe spending some time with it since he won't look suave and metrosexual anymore.

Dragon Age got me big time, I just want to finish it once before Modern Warfare on Tuesday. Looks like I'm losing interest in Aion though, I'm at 45 now on my ranger and just don't want to log in at all it seems.

I'm in the exact same boat. It's an amazing game. But then after Modern Warfare 2 comes out tues, we've only got an week until Assassin's Creed 2 comes out after that.

Same, and don't forget left 4 dead 2 on the 20th. This is a big month for gaming my friends. We will need to prepare appropriately.

I've been playing Torchlight. Sure, it's a massive Diablo rip-off (which should be expected since it's made by the people who made Diablo) but it sure is addictive. That and it's graphics don't put me off of playing it (The Diablo games are the only games that the graphics have affected my reasoning to not play it).

Torchlight. Got a level 16 alchemist and loving it. Dual wield wands is ridiculous fun, pow pow pow.

Currently have the demo for NCAA Basketball 2010 downloading so I'll be checking that out (for all of a likely 5 minutes given) and then.. hmm I don't know. I bought Halo 3: ODST last week (mainly for the multiplayer disc) but I'm beginning to learn that I'm just not a Halo fan.. It's not that I suck because I've won by fair share of games and got the MVP achievement in a Capture the Flag game BUT.. I don't know. It doesn't bring about any excitement for me. More of a "Meh, okay" feeling.
I'm out of WoW for the time being, trying to give the 360 some quality play time.

Allison's lack of Twitter makes me sad considering her awesome.
This weekend, I'll be chilling with my other half and gearing up my 80 warlock!

Playing Dragon Age: "WoW" - Just like WoW, only with saves.
They've unashamedly copied a lot of the UI elements, and in some of the stuff i have encountered so far, made some improvements as well. If it works, may as well use it i guess.
Love the warhound (and the landmark trees). The origin stories for each of the combos is a really good setup for the game too. Just waiting on my toon to level enough to have 38 str for the Dragon Blood Armor
MusedMoose Nov 7th 2009 8:51PM
I'm with Red Hawk - I just got Dragon Age today, and after finally getting it installed and working (DirectX issues will give me more white hairs, I swear), I'm only two hours in and I'm blown away. The game is really, really good so far - truly a callback to the days of Baldur's Gate in some ways, but it also clearly shows how much BW has learned since then. I've hardly scratched the surface and I know I'm in for one hell of a ride.
...though I was really confused about walking around until I remapped the keys to match how I have them set up for WoW. *grin*

Starting a new gnome mage, BobbyFlash, with my gf. Actually enjoying wow again.
Liondude Nov 7th 2009 11:18PM
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
After 3.3 you won't be able to get the red proto-drake anymore? (Daniel Whitcomb mentioned its becoming a "Feat of Strength?") I haven't heard about this, and I thought Blizzard was supposed to give a month's notice.
Let me know please
Zaniac Nov 8th 2009 1:40AM
Relax, you misunderstood.
Daniel was talking about the Daily Heroic and Daily Dungeon quest achievements "Proof of Demise" and "Timear Foresees" becoming Feats of Strength. No one mentioned anything about the Red Protodrake, awarded by another achievement "Glory of the Hero". Including Blizzard, who has indeed promised a months advance notice.

Torchlight... somebody wake me up when it get exciting , gets Real boring after a few hours. Diablo fans will feel at home... but you always have to be careful with a game that generates all the content randomly.
Dragon Age is too linear, typical Baldaur's Gate... if you like that... have at this, you'll love it.
My time-killer has been "Risen", a sequel of sorts to the Gothic series... the combat has been attacked, but clearly by players (or lazy reviewers) that never leveled the skills to the point where fighting becomes an art.. where timing and knowledge of the opponent is critical and new moves are uncovered as you progress.
If you like single player RPG's and many hours of exploration (you can actually get lost in the foliage and find many hidden caves with fearsome creatures) then Risen will glue you to the screen.
INFO: Plays third person, 3 classes, many crafting skills, 60-100 hours of play, great graphics that run like a clock even on older machines, quest based, tons of voice acting, you never feel over-powered... treat lightly and save often!
Wonk Nov 8th 2009 12:23AM
OH... one other thing concerning RISEN... it has lots of sex and drugs, so much in fact that it is currently banned in Australia.
Example... you can smoke joints of "Weed" to relax and gain a few EXP pts.
