Fortunatly myself and my Partner (who is the GM) are the top rnked members of our guild (along with another GM who is also a parent) and all raids are schedueled for after 6 pm (kiddies bed times) leaving us 6-8 hours in which we can do whatever (including raiding).
Granted we aren't blasting through content like the raiding guilds full of spotty 14 year olds with nothing better to do but we make steady progress. We manage at least 2 raiding nights a week (some times as many as 6). The people in our guild know (or just have to accept) that our game time is ALWAYS secondary to what ever is happening at home.
Also I never commit to any runs during the day time.. Sure I log in to the game, check auctions/mail etc and the majority of the guild know that I will not commit to any sort of grouped run in the day time for the very reason that I cannot guarantee that I won't have to go AFK every 5 minutes for an undetermined amount of time due to little jonny deciding to swan-dive down the stairs or little Emily deciding that mummy's make-up is great for playing Extreme Make over Home edition with. Sure it hacks some people off, but time usualy proves that those people are the elitist a$$holes who usualy end up moving on because they see themselves as far too good for the likes of any guild. We have a good group of people at the end of it. people who have a life and use the game to unwind.

Bedtime at 6? Can we swap kids? We're lucky to get them down by 8:30.
