Create a Battle.net account, or don't play anymore
Wondering why you can't log into the game? Mr. Chilly knows why. It's because you spurned him. He was ready to be your bestest bud, and look what you did. You missed the deadline to get Mr. Chilly express-delivered to your mailbox by merging your WoW account into a Battle.net account. You had all the time in the world. You made Mr. Chilly cry. And now you can't even log in! Serves you right!Well, it's way too late to reconcile with Mr. Chilly, but you can at least get back into the game if you go and create a Battle.net account now. Remember that, aside from being forced to do it now anyway, this also conveniently organizes all of your Blizzard game accounts into one place, lets you re-download any game for which you lost the CDs, and, uh, has a neat menu, I guess. Just go do it so you can play.
Your mother and I are very disappointed in you.

I'm glad Blizzard did this, I'm having no issues whatsoever and my account management page is so pwetty now.
Dazaras Nov 11th 2009 10:01AM
Ditto to both of you. I can't see any reason why anyone wouldn't have already done this.
Jimmy Nov 11th 2009 10:57AM
Same! Battle.net is smart :)
Jay Nov 11th 2009 2:36AM
Is there anyone who at this stage hasn't done this? A months notice; with the message being on the log in screen, plus an ingame mail..
Tardesh Nov 11th 2009 3:09AM
Anyone that hasn't done this already is unlikely to be reading this site unfortunately.

I did it just last night, less than 24 hours ago, was going to put it off just one more day, but decided with the servers going down, just to do it. Lucky for me because I got home letter today than I expected, and would have missed the deadline.

I did it just yesterday.
Many of my guildies had occasional problems logging (it happened several times, a couple of guys couldn't log in, and they always had something in common... a battle.net account) with battle.net accounts, so I waited until I had to do the merge.
I can only hope those problems are now solved.
Jason Nov 11th 2009 8:58AM
To Mark & Jam:
Why wait until the last possible minute? I don't really understand the kicking & screaming approach...
jam Nov 11th 2009 11:47AM
And I thougt I just explained... maybe you should read my post again.
Kindcola Nov 11th 2009 2:37PM
@Jam
It's funny because during that same period the only people that were having problems logging in in my guild were people that HADN'T merged their account yet. This was like 4 months ago. I have never had a problem logging in with my Battle.net account.

My one complaint about Mr. Chilly is that they didn't go through with naming him Oswald, which for my money was a much cooler name.
Fawxy Nov 11th 2009 3:55AM
His name is Oswald Chilly.
Thus Mr. Chilly
Lissanna Nov 11th 2009 7:29AM
I agree with Fawxy. He's Mr. Oswald Chilly.
Nazgûl Nov 11th 2009 9:47AM
Batman references for the win.
Jorjeh Nov 11th 2009 3:31AM
I just merged my account; I'm a lazy person.
They still give you Mr. Chilly as of 12:30 PST
Yassaan Nov 11th 2009 3:37AM
Honestly, I fail to see the full advantages of Battle.Net. And I'm starting getting connection hiccups now. All was well before I merged and then POW my log in keeps hiccuping and failing on occasion.
But ya know what? It was SOOOO wirth it becuase I have a bloody penguin now....
Lissanna Nov 11th 2009 7:33AM
The advantage is that it allows for all the cool features they haven't put in yet. When you are playing WoW and your guild members are playing SC2, you'll be able to type in the chat log "Hey, log into WoW, it's raid start time!"
For the cross-game, cross-faction, cross-realm chat feature alone, it's going to be worth it.
