Patch 3.3 PTR: Emblem of Frost gear revealed

Another PTR build was pushed out today for patch 3.3. The item levels for the Frost level gear are 264. As always, there's a new assortment of trinkets to select from. Tanks may be interested in the Corroded Skeleton Key. Healers who don't already possess decent healing trinkets will want to pick up Purified Lunar Dust. For DPS players, you have the choice of a Herkumi War Token or Maghia's Misguided Quill. The latter is for casters due to the increase in spell power. Can't comment too much on the physical DPS trinket. That's a lot of haste.
Another interesting thing to note is that Primordial Saronite is on the vendor. I'm not sure if this will be a permanent change when it goes live. I have a feeling the Primordial Saronite is only obtainable within the Icecrown instance for crafting reasons (like Crusader Orbs).
Anyway, new ranged slot items, trinkets, capes (back pieces), chest pieces, gloves and belts will be available for purchase. And of course, you can exchange an Emblem of Frost for an Emblem of Triumph.
Remember, Emblems of Frost are gained by completing the new weekly raid quests, taking down bosses in Icecrown Citadel or the new Vault of Archavon boss.
For the full list, check out MMO Champion.
Update: You use the Primordial Saronite to purchase recipes in Icecrown. Currently, each recipe costs 1 Primordial Saronite. You also need to be revered with the Ashen Verdict.
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to Arthas. As far as we currently know, you also need 25 Primordial Saronite as part of the quest chain to craft Shadowmourne.

/drool over that stam trink, but the caster dps trink is pretty darn lame, I'm over hit cap as it is.

That trinket is simply... amazing!
I hope that it doesn't cost that many badges. I'd love to get my hands on it for my tank :)

Glad (oddly enough) to see rep factions making a return to raiding. A better alternative, in my opinion, to relying on extreme luck to get a high level crafting recipe.

That war totem looks pretty spiffy.

Sometimes I just don't understand Blizzard.
Casters are already drowning and in +hit, and they already had that Triumph badge trinket with +hit that absolutely no one (with any sense) uses. Now they get a new trinket, with even more hit. How useful.

yeah, agree much. a decent caster trinket would be much appreciated. On the plus side, the IC 5-man drops a decent off-hand. Maybe it's that I only run ten-man dungeons, but there's been a dearth of them since naxx.

uh, apparently comments don't like html much:

I am so in agreement with you guys and thought the exact same thing. It's ridiculous to get yet another hit trinket for caster dps and yet nothing really useful otherwise. For those of us who haven't been lucky enough to get the Illus. of the Dragon Soul or Eye of the Broodmother, it's just stupid for Blizzard to keep making emblem reward trinkets with either Hit or Intellect on them. Grrr...
Turtlehead Nov 12th 2009 4:28PM
Agreed, agreed. Started laughing when I saw the stats.

Does anyone know if T10 gear will be purchasable with emblems like the T9 gear?

Geeze, I totally agree with Neirin up there, I have had ENOUGH with this huge amount of hit on Caster.DPS trinkets. You wanna know how many raiding players are already hit capped and have NO NEED for it? 100%. Every. Single. One. Of. Them. Hit is plenty abundant on gear, gems, and enchants, it just uses up valuable itemization points on trinkets. This is kind-of the same argument I use when my healer needs something that has hit on it. Some Warlock in the back says "that's a caster DPS item, you can't roll on it". I say "Are you hit capped? Well then, you will get just as much usefulness out of that hit as I will".
Also, why the hell do they keep putting on-use effects on trinkets? Proc effects are so much better for sustained DPS, and god knows my mage needs ANOTHER offensive cooldown to balance. Why do the healers get an awesome proc trinket, but us tanks and caster dps don't? Well, hopefully something better will drop in IC.
soccerdude7 Nov 12th 2009 1:35AM
Maybe you're looking at it wrong. Maybe all the awesome epics in IC have no hit and this makes up for it.
Ratskinmahoney Nov 12th 2009 8:13AM
Take a look on MMO-Champion. ICC drops are still dripping in hit. At the moment I'm dropping 245 gear for 226 or even 219 and getting dps gains because there is just far too much hit. On the plus side, there's a lot more haste going round too.
Kylenne Nov 11th 2009 8:21PM
WTB less +hit on my stuff, kthx.
-a mage.
Heather Nov 11th 2009 8:22PM
You can buy Crusader Orbs off vendors too.
Skarn Nov 11th 2009 8:32PM
The physical DPS trinket is....underwhelming, to say the least. Haste? HASTE? Waste of badges. My hunter isn't gonna touch that thing.
Docp Nov 11th 2009 8:50PM
I don't know. I quite like that second equip effect. I mean on boss fights after the initial ten seconds that's pretty much an extra 340ap for my rogue which is pretty nice.
Sarakin Nov 11th 2009 8:53PM
my enhancement shaman will love the haste
MrMindless Nov 11th 2009 10:57PM
as a feral druid that haste is a big boo to
they just couldn't have chosen something usefull for everyone like say crit
