Horray! Another update to the
patch 3.3 PTR patch notes. This one is nice and small. Usually, when the note updates become smaller and smaller, it's a good indication that the patch is getting closer to being done. But, we also haven't seen any itemization of this patch yet -- so there is obviously still a bit of work to do. However even then, items don't exactly change very much in the PTR, they are mostly set via formulas devised well ahead of time. So we'll see... nice to see things shaping up though.
All the updates to the patch notes are as follows:
- Druids: Gift of the Earthmother: Redesigned. This talent now increases spell haste by 2/4/6/8/10% and reduces the base global cooldown of Lifebloom by 2/4/6/8/10% instead of its previous effects. (This was just reworded, nothing changed, according to Blizzard.)
- Paladins: Sanctified Light (changed reverted based on update to Lay on Hands)
- Murder: This talent now provides a flat damage increase of 2/4% against all targets, instead of only targets which do not appear in Icecrown.
- Victory Rush: This ability is now trainable at level 6. (This was just corrected, nothing new.)
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of
Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to Arthas.

Murder change is very much welcome.

The wording for the Murder change is pretty amusing.

Can't wait for patch to drop. Hopefully I will just ding 80 on my hunter right before the patch goes live. Then I can get a full tier 9 set in a week.

Why the vote down?

These updates are boring. More and bigger please. Preferably shiny too. Wiv sound effects, big growly ones.

Victory Rush at level 6? Interesting. It won't be life changing or anything, just help kill a little faster at lower levels.
I just think it is weird that they would take a level 62 (64?) ability and drop it down to level 6.
MightyMuffin Nov 11th 2009 10:59AM
They are trying to make the beginning leveling experience a bit easier for new players, and probably new players didn't like waiting for an attack to happen, and wanted to press buttons in order to kill things.
So long as they learn to move out of fire...it'll all be ok...

Levelling a shaman became so much more fun with Water Shield at lvl 20. And with the mana-regen on Stormstrike, Enhancement becomes a no-stop levelling machine.

Fewer and fewer changes each round. Seems like they're just working the tuning on the raid bosses right now, so it will be interesting to see how the PTR testing goes over the next few days. If that's relatively bug-free, 3.3 should be ready to go. The only question then is, how will they time it relative to Thanksgiving? My guess remains 1 December.
MightyMuffin Nov 11th 2009 11:01AM
I hope its before December 1, because by then I'll be entrenched in the library studying for my finals and writing extensive research papers...please Blizzard, think of the college kids that need that one week of happiness before being thrown into the cages...er...desks at the library/study areas.
PodPeople Nov 11th 2009 11:18AM
Dec 1 is a good guess, since Blizzard will assuredly not drop a major content patch 2 days before one of the bigger holidays in the US, which makes the rest of the world wait on a holiday that they don't observe. It Could drop next week, but that's not all too likely either based on how far they've gotten with the testing.

"Blizzard will assuredly not drop a major content patch 2 days before one of the bigger holidays"
Are you kidding? That would be the perfect time to drop the patch. Everyone will be tired from shopping and need some home time. What better way to relax than rocking out some mass heroics for the tier 9 goodness with 1 min que time groups. I hope it drops right after I hit 80 so I can be carried through every heroics.

Don't you guys love how many changes warriors are getting?
Amaxe Nov 11th 2009 11:47AM
Well I'm leveling a draenei fury warrior (level 23 atm)... the first warrior I ran in over two years since I quit WoW the first time. It may be because of the racial heal, or blood fury (?) regen or the fact he's an alchemist/herbalist (all of which make me go longer without need to bandage up), but being a warrior is more fun and less painful than the first time I did it
arcaneterror Nov 11th 2009 4:31PM
Yes, all two of them, both useless to my level 80 Draenei Warrior.
DeathPaladin Nov 11th 2009 11:57AM
I think I can pretty safely guess that Patch 3.3 is not going to drop until at least after the stats for Shadowmourne and the Quel'Delar weapons get datamined.
Guru Nov 11th 2009 1:02PM
Yea I hate that warriors are not geting buffed... At least make Arms a better raiding spec. Myself I can pull 6.4-7k dps as Arms spec. Witch most people see to be ""OP"" To many people think Arms is for pvp. No if you know how to play Arms right it is better then fury. But would be nice to see it get a little buff.
Clydtsdk-Rivendare Nov 11th 2009 8:27PM
Arms has been the top spec for anyone not fully BiS (or at least close) for some time?...
Pfooti Nov 11th 2009 1:06PM
Yay murder. I appreciate the evening out of situational stuff like that. As strange as it is to apply a bleed to an earth elemental, the game is more fair if you can do a consistent amount of damage to enemies, regardless of their type.
Hagen Nov 11th 2009 1:42PM
Of course, the 3rd 5 man hasn't even been available for testing yet has it? I know the other 2 are open and nothing has been itemized yet, but itemization can happen when it goes live.
Blizzard launched the game 2 days before Thanksgiving and they had networking people working all weekend log as they bumped the game from 20 to 40 servers. A week later we had 80.
