This is a good question, and if it doesn't check your offset gear (which wouldn't surprise me) could lead to many a mishap... SURE you could say "If your gear isn't good enough for heroics, then don't sign up for LFG for that roll!" but people don't seem to get that. Can't say how many times I've been putting together a group and whispered someone marked as healer/DPS or tank/DPS to either heal or tank, only for them to refuse because A) their gear wasn't good enough, or B) they're holding out for a DPS spot. I mean, honestly, if you don't want to tank/heal, why'd you leave the box checked?
