I'm pretty sure that it's an annoying encounter and my guild will spend several weeks on him, but are you *really* complaining you weren't able to kill an unknown boss the first night he was released on the PTR because it was too hard?Especially after one year of people whining about WotLK raids being too easy and cleared in the first weeks...

Yeah, this sounds a whole lot like some serious whining. I know Matt said it felt like they were going nowhere with all the different strategies, but when he actually explained it all, it sounds like it's totally doable with some more time to develop and practice strategies. It certainly doesn't sound any more complicated than something like Yoggy or Vezax. I can't even imagine the soul-crushing frustration a raid might have experienced if they'd had only an hour to see Yoggy for the first time with no (or limited) knowledge of the encounter.

I think you should go back and reread this quote:Matt said "With regards to the other bosses I've participated in up to this point, this is the only encounter so far where I felt absolutely helpless and at a loss as to what to do. With more time on the other encounters, I'm confident that we would've been able to get those ones down."In other words, it's not that they couldn't down the boss in one night. It's kind of implied that there were other bosses that he didn't down either. Instead, the grudge against this comes from not really knowing for sure how to approach the fight, even he had more than one night for it.Not only that, but I'm not sure how you see this as a complaint. Ya, he didn't like the fight out of frustration, but I don't see anywhere that he interprets this to mean that it should be changed or that there's something that's actually wrong with a hard encounter.Even if there was a complaint about this, lets not forget that Blizzard has aimed to address the difficulty critique by making hard modes rather than simply making all new content significantly more difficult.

I'm not sure he was "complaining" the article came across to me as suggesting he was frustrated but he had a fun time...

According to a blue post, Saurfang's currently a little buggy and his dodge and crit chances are too high. That makes him a lot harder than the finished product will be.

I am the last person on earth that will complain about anything being too hard. I only have two PTR kills under my belt. It usually takes us an hour to get a handle on what the encounters are like and to devise ideas or strategies to make progress. We were able to survive a ground phase and an airphase on Sindragosa for example. We lasted longer on Dreamwalker with each progressive attempt. I'm not frustrated because it's too hard. I'm frustrated because I ran out of ideas.
