Rufus on Livejournal reminds us that
one year ago as of November 13th,
Wrath of the Lich King first came into our lives. That means it's been one full year since
we had our launch events, since
death knights first became free of the Lich King's control, and since we first stepped foot in Dalaran. It's the one year anniversary of our arrival at Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord, the addition of Inscription to the game, and the first fights in Strand of the Ancients and Wintergrasp. If you add in
the pre-Wrath patch 3.0.2, you can add in achievements, barbershops, and a whole bunch of other changes.
It's almost unbelievable how much has been added to the game in just the last year, though of course, considering that most of these things were actually announced
way back at BlizzCon 2007, we've been living with them a little longer than that. And of course it's not over yet: we're currently standing on the doorstep of
Icecrown Citadel, about to finish the fight over Arthas' soul that was started way back in
Warcraft III, and there are
rumblings under the earth of a whole new threat. Who knows what the
World of Warcraft will look like a year from now?

Today, I ran H UK with a tank who said that he hadn't touched that character since "Badges of Honor were the thing." He wasn't that great, but as healer, I was able to salvage the run. I now know that means he hadn't played his tank in at least a year, which explains a lot. Thanks, wow insider!

I sent a tip into you guys hoping to have something posted on Friday about it, but I'm glad you guys did finally put something up. :) I personally can't believe that it's only been a year! I remember a year ago at this time, my copy from eBay hadn't arrived, so I was grinding out Ogri'la rep... :P

one year since dance studio was supposed to come out
/fake QQ
KronosIII Nov 16th 2009 12:12AM
Dude dance studio was amazing this expansion. Did you not see the trailer?
It says its coming this expansion dude.
Dude this expansion is not over man!
We only got 1 more major content patch for Wrath and there is no hint at all of putting in dance studio.
You know why?
Because it is already in game! All you have to do is close your eyes and imagine your undead break dancing like a fiend in dala.
/cry
WHERE IN GODS NAME IS MY NEW DANCES BLIZZARD! WHAT IS SO HARD OF MAKING NEW ANIMATIONS FOR CHARACTER MODELS, DEAR GOD!
Then again this is the same ppl that can't fix vanish...........
P.S. readers (All the smart Devs went to the new mmo)
Be prepared for more lame fail in WoW and GODSEND in the new mmo.
P.S.S. I'm not even kidding......ALL the smart Dev's went to the new mmo.

And in real QQ, New Dances/Studios were promised for LK in the very first LK trailer. Here we are a year into LK, no dances. 3.3's coming, the planned Last Patch for LK, no dances in that either. Broken promises eh?
Not to start a flamewar, but BioWare only announces stuff for TOR when they have it playable and in a showable state, maybe Blizzard should take up that approach. The "promising dance studios when they were clearly on the drawing board at best" has seemed to have backfired on them, with a promised feature for this expansion not making it into this expansion at all.
I don't even care that much about the dances themselves, it's just content promised for this expansion that won't make it into this expansion at all. Broken promises.....

The Lich King can have the Death Knights back to be honest.
...
Hehe, nah just kidding we're cool! (...for now!!!)
JKWood Nov 14th 2009 8:21PM
Could we get into Dalaran the first day? I wouldn't have thought you could without the quest to use the portal...
Cetha Nov 14th 2009 8:47PM
Mages could get there @ 71. So I'm sure some overachiever was there thhe first day.
Angus Nov 14th 2009 8:52PM
Mage got to level 72 and learned the teleport spell.
Mage then got into a part with me, started a battleground. At that point, where the party leader signed up for a battleground was where you went after the bg ended.
So day 1, hearth in dal.
jam Nov 14th 2009 10:55PM
I was probably the first person to set foot in Dalaran on my server. No one else around, no lag... ah I miss that peace.
Thander Nov 15th 2009 12:55PM
I remember first day teleporting there and some rogue had already gotten there. He also saved up the gold for the expensive mammoth and was giving people rides around Dalaran.

WoW has really started to wear on me lately. It's not burnout. It's having nothing to do but the same thing every time you log on, and then you realize it wasn't ever really fun to begin with. Can't wait until the expansion to take my mind off of that. Thinking about un-subbing until it comes out.
Ilunc Nov 14th 2009 10:58PM
Yeah thats what I am doing
Valt Nov 15th 2009 4:29AM
I have same feeling. But I know why. Its the current tier of content thats just making me wanna stop paying monthly fee until 3.3 (even if noone cares but my sub ends at 24th day this month and I'm not planning to buy more if the patch wont come before or week after that. Im not paying fee to idle at org and doing dailies till I patch comes).
I mean COME OOOON. Raid that takes 30 minutes to clear as major patch? Really?!
You can do every single raid in a day in 3.2. Voa, onyxia, toc. Toc heroic just takes 2 times the amount of normal mode (apart from anub..). We even do alt run in same day. And 2nd alts run next day or same day to every raid. Then its 6 days of dailies or pvp..
"brb going to play L4D2 or Team Fortress 2 till fridays raid."
I feel ya mon.
Narshe Nov 15th 2009 7:45AM
Im anticipating Cata as well and have basically quit until then. Ill prolly try out 3.3 for awhile but not long.
TBH i just dont enjoy Wrath as much as i did BC. Its not lack of content ( i dont think) but im pretty sure its that i just DONT like Northrend compared to OL.
if they gave us more reason to go into zones like Sholozar, Borean, Fjord and Grizz hills (besides random daily quests) id prolly love NR. Being stuck in Icecrown or Storm Peaks for all our dailies just gets old, im so tired of ice. If they had spread it out a bit more, and have a -good- quest hub in Sholozar, for example, it wouldnt drain on me i dont think.
Playing in NR is like being stuck in Alaska...
Narshe Nov 15th 2009 7:50AM
Oh, and i cant forget Crystalsong Forest. My draw dropped when i first saw screens of that zone, and was amazed when i traveled there in game on my lvl 72 at the time. I thought "Oh, i cant wait to quest here"
Little did i know Blizz would basically do *nothing* with that zone, after they even included flightpaths in small hubs that i could imagine would hold plenty of questing if they had implemented it. I know theres a couple random dailies that sent you there, but that place really deserved a LOT more IMO.
