Night Elf Mohawk grenade now active in WoW

In what appears to be the start of the World of Warcraft 5th anniversary celebrations, Night Elf Mohawks have entered WoW! You can go visit Mr. Night Elf Mohawk outside any of the races starting zones. In particular we were able to see the Night Elf outside of the human starting area of Northshire, and near the Undead starting area of Tirisfal Glades -- on any live server, not on the PTR. This is also only on North American servers right now. Reports indicate that the Night Elf Mohawk will appears on EU and Korean servers starting November 24th.
When you get there you'll want to talk to him, make him pity the fool. And in return you'll get a five Mohawk Grenades that let you make others wear a Night Elf Mohawk mask. You can get more grenades once your five are all used up.
There is a 50 minute buff called "Mohawked" with the flavor text of "You pity the fool" that gets placed on you when you wear the mask. You can right click the debuff to remove it.
Check out the gallery below for images from this little Monday afternoon surprise. And just for kicks, the original Mr. T WoW commercial after the break. When you watch the commercial again, note how Mr. T's in-game self looks exactly like his character does in the commercial, quite neat!
Update: There is now an FAQ on the Night Elf Mohawk, which is reproduced after the break.

From the official FAQ:
Q. What is the Mohawk Grenade?
A. The Mohawk Grenade is Mr. T's latest invention: an in-game item that, when hurled at another character, gives everyone within the blast radius an instant T-riffic haircut. Don't worry, you and your friends will look gooooood.
Q. Where do I get it?
A. Quit your jibber-jabber and claim your Mohawk Grenades from any of the Night Elf Mohawk NPCs camped outside every starting zone.
Q. What regions are eligible to claim the Mohawk Grenade?
A. North America, Europe and Korea.
Q. Is this a permanent item?
A. Each Mohawk Grenade has five charges before exhausting its power, and you're welcome to claim another once the charges are gone.
Q. How long will the Mohawk Grenade be available in-game?
A. Claim Mohawk Grenades starting November 16th in North America and November 24th in Europe and Korea. They'll be available until... well, until the Night Elf Mohawk decides his work is done.
Q. Where can I see the Mr. T commercials?
A. The commercials will be airing on major TV networks throughout North America beginning on November 16th and in Europe starting on November 27th.

I wonder if that means that Ozzy is going to show up too? Maybe he'll give out axes that look like Zakk Wylde guitars..
Tirrimas Nov 16th 2009 2:06PM
The Tirisfal location is at the end of the road leading out of Deathknell.
Tirrimas Nov 16th 2009 2:06PM
...and the NPC's name is "Night Elf Mohawk".
Tirrimas Nov 16th 2009 2:09PM

txcroadshow Nov 16th 2009 2:09PM
you can go back and get more, just only have 5 at one time.
Genozide Nov 16th 2009 2:09PM
The Mohawk Grenades are great, if a group of people are standing close enough you can give them all the Mohawk treatment.

Believe it or not, EU players also read this site. Would be nice to have an update saying that it isn't available on EU servers yet, the same thing happened with the faction change.

Actually, .com is an international internet code, while .us stands for United States of America.

More complicity with the Grand Blizzard Ignore EU Players Grand Scheme. (GBIEPGS)
You heard it hear first.
Fact 1 - No battle bots for EU.
Fact 2 - No Invitational for EU.
Fact 3- $15 pets in the EU pet store.
Fact 4 - No Sweepstake for EU account holders.
Fact 5 - WOW.COM "Servers are up" "Servers are down" posts = US Servers are up/down.
I say we all leave and join Warham.....er or Age of Con... um yeah, well maybe a post on the forums will do.

/facepalm
Lots of fail replies here... Can't comprehend a facetious answer to obvious QQ.
Direwoe Nov 17th 2009 8:01AM
....You know that my comment about the GBIEPGS was Irony right?
It had two 'Grand' in it (American Dodgeball Association of America style)
...Note to self, less subtle, more use of the words "QQ", "Noob", and "Arsecandle"
:)
BillDoor Nov 16th 2009 2:19PM
There really needs to be an engineering schematic for these.
ajaxsirius Nov 16th 2009 2:21PM
Dun dun dun, there's a spell listed on wowhead called "Summon Nigh Elf Mohawk - Summons a Night Elf Mohawk to your side." !
Maybe there's more to this than meets the eye!
TAD Nov 16th 2009 2:27PM
Damn - if I could summon my very own Night Elf Mohawk, I'd be in geek goobery heaven! I pity the fool that don't make this real!
Tirrimas Nov 16th 2009 2:33PM
I'd rather have Vic Mignogna's 'lock. >.>
