I agree. Family Guy's humour is overdone and 'samey'.
Step 1: Pop culture reference
Step 2: Random, dragged-out scene
Step 3: Nominal character exhibits typical behaviour (Stewie tries to kill Lois, etc...)
Then: Rinse and repeat steps 1 to 3

Step 2: Insert pop culture reference in random scenario.
Step 3: Drag out scene to be awkwardly long.

Family Guy might not have invented their set up for lulz, but they still do them better than almost anyone else in the business. The Simpsons, in many years of watching, has never made me laugh. Not once. Odd thing, too, because I'll laugh often times at jokes from the Simpsons when relayed through a friend with better timing and setup.

The whole Miley part sucked donkey balls but the "tribute" to Mr. Swayze was exellent. My daughter now thinks something is wrong with me because I end sentences with roadhouse.
