Tuesday Morning Post: Fear and Loathing edition

So unfortunately, I've had to cancel my plans to get a gonzo lawyer and rent an Impala, but what you gonna do? At least we still have the TCG. Maybe one of these years Blizzard will see the light. In the meantime, we'll just continue toiling away in the WoW.com salt mines here as we dream of the big city. This week, there's plenty of news to work through, and with a 3 AM to 11 AM Pacific downtime, you'll have time. Check out the latest gems we've unearthed for you after the break.

Evelinda Nov 17th 2009 7:17AM
these blizzard people are all the same... they have no faith in the essential decency of the white man's culture.

I doubt patch is this week, but the background downloader is downloading a 448MB file saving as wow-partial-1.MPQ.part. Some have reported that Blizzard then pulled it, but my mine is still downloading, no doubt due to the nature of torrents.

"What do we want?"
"ROLLING RESTARTS!"

I can't decide if it makes me more sad that you had to link so people would get the Fear and Loathing joke or that you linked to the movie instead of the book.
Ah well, an HST reference is an HST reference.
Reuben Nov 17th 2009 1:07PM
In my humble opinion, the book is far superior to the movie. Johnny Depp, however, did get Hunter right on.

btw, for "The Guild" fans... episode 11 is up this morning.

Gonzo is a form of journalism, not a law practice... Nice try though.
Riley Nov 18th 2009 1:00AM
well, he was Dr. Gonzo, so he was a gonzo lawyer, just in a different way

"Attend BlizzCon all day, gamble all night, *(and)* sleep never."
"Unfortunately, they were quickly supplanted by howls of pain and anguish as we discovered that it *(was)* just the Las Vegas Convention Center jumping the gun, and that we'll probably still be headed to Anaheim for the next BlizzCon."
"So unfortunately, I've had to cancel my plans to get a gonzo lawyer and rent an Impala, but what *(are)* you gonna do?"
You had three blaringly bad grammar mistakes and you only wrote two paragraphs. I'm usually a very forgiving Grammarian, but Jesus-H-Christ, you're a writer. 3 Errors in 8 Sentences, FFS.
Karl Nov 17th 2009 12:48PM
Blaringly?
Karl Nov 17th 2009 12:52PM
Also, unless you're Emily Dickinson, "Sentence" and "Grammarian" should not be capitalized

One year they held the New England Bookseller's Association trade show at the Borgata in Atlantic City (it was either NEBA or NAIBA, forget actually). And after about an hour's worth of business being done, all of the attendees basically left for the casino floor and the rest of us in the booths were stuck sitting there twiddling our thumbs. The "attend con during the day" part just didn't happen. So, maybe it's for the best. ;)

Have you been to Las Vegas in July? I have.
Trust me. This is a good thing. ;)
