Patch 3.3 PTR: Armored Frost Wyrm mounts are rewards from Icecrown

MMO-Champion previously unearthed this armored Frost Wyrm model along with spells named Frostbrood Vanquisher and Frostbrood Vanquisher Flight, which could give some insight into some Icecrown Citadel encounters. Despite the confirmation of new reward mounts (expected to grant 310% flying speed, as well), there is currently no word on the removal of the Ulduar reward mounts, which Blizzard has said to stay for "the foreseeable future".
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to Arthas. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news.Filed under: Items, Raiding, Mounts, Achievements

Epic.

Is it wrong that I want to quit my job, leave my family, and give up my entire life so that I may devote all my time and energy into acquiring this mount?
...should have sent a poet...

Yes. Yes it is.
But that does not detract from the awesomeness of this mount. If it wasn't so purple, I would do the same. Unless Blizz would be so kind as to make it obtainable for serious-but-not-######## raiders.
Please?

Sorry, wasn't aware about a filter on that word. ######## = quintessential antonym of "casual."

CQ, CQ, this is W9GFO. Is anybody out there?

Small moves, Ellie. Small moves.

They can't seriously be censoring the word h@rdcore on these comments can they? That is the word you're trying to say, right?

Simply awesome.

Hey is Patch 3.3 up? Cause im downloading it right now.
prenden2 Nov 19th 2009 12:38AM
Nope, it's not out yet, they're just releasing an earlier portion of the 3.3 patch to save us having to download a massive chunk later.
As an aside, I'm not a programmer but I'd wager that this 450mb-odd portion is probably more stable than the next portion(s) i.e. it's content that has already been tested and been found to be stable on the PTR.
Noli Nov 19th 2009 2:07AM
Oh ok, thank you.

As a raider, I can't explain how happy I am to see one of those babies available to those who aren't gods at Pvp. I haven't been able to sleep at night after I saw someone riding the Pvp one.
Shaverdian Nov 18th 2009 11:05PM
Not a fan of mounts really, but this is awesome. Looks like they put a lot of detail into it.
ArgentDK Nov 18th 2009 11:09PM
Not to steal it's thunder, but... Invincible still takes the cake.
Which means this will be relatively obtainable, right?
(see previous post for further pleading)

In my humble opinion, the classic frost wyrm mounts look a bit cooler. The face armor hides all the cool details of the skull, and the ear things coming off the helmet look a little silly. Im not one to talk though, if i won the roll on that mount it would still be the only thing i ride around. So it's cool, but i just like the classic frost wyrm mount a little better.
Reuben Nov 18th 2009 11:21PM
Mounts are the only thing in WoW that I admit to collecting. This thing sure is purdy.
zsorel16 Nov 18th 2009 11:24PM
Really cool, but I have to wonder why they chose Armored Ones to represent PvE and unarmored ones for PvP...seeing how in the past the Armored Netherdrakes were from PvP.
Awesome, nonetheless; can't wait to hopefully get one of these.
Arbitor Nov 19th 2009 3:41PM
Most likely because the PvP ones were released 1st in this expansion, while frost-wyrms are only just now being made available to raiding, so they have to improve upon the pvp model by giving it badass armour.
On-top they look sweeeeeeeeeeeet.
Noscy Nov 18th 2009 11:42PM
Looks kinda under weight
Rilgon Nov 19th 2009 12:00AM
Hot damn, finally, a real dragon and not a dog-drake.
