Worgen /welcome video from IgroMir 2009

Of particular note is the animations at the end of the video. The /welcome animation is a worgen pointing, waving, and then getting down on all fours to sniff the air in-front of him; as if to smell the nether regions of the person being greeted as canines are prone to do. There is some discussion if this it worgen idle animation at the wrong time, or if this is part of the overall /welcome animation sequence.
Unforunately we don't know, but we're all having a good laugh over it. And now you can do.
The goods after the break, while it still exists.
Note that there is an annotation in the video that says the video is from BlizzCon 2009 -- however that's incorrect.

Prince Liam Greymane as a questgiver? Is that new information? Hell if it is, I still think it's cool!
Scomparsa Nov 19th 2009 7:58PM
Hey, my name finally got into World of Warcraft! (Liam)
Also, I think that the sniffing is the idle animation just poorly timed, but it makes the whole thing pretty epic.
When I saw "welcome video" I was hoping for the intro cutscene, but now I see "/welcome" and feel stupid...oh well. I'm looking forward to Cat more than ever now!

He was there as a quest giver during BlizzCon 2009.
More astoundingly, he's my mage's twin. Except that I grew a beard on him because the mouth looks goofy.
When I say twin I literally mean, same hair style, hair color, and face. Not impossible, but still, unlikely, especially for a major NPC.

Considering how limited the customization options are, it's not that unlikely.

Is there any reason left to play Horde?
(assuming blizzard is not revamping vanilla wow models)
Snuzzle Nov 19th 2009 11:24PM
@Eternauta
Troll druid. Just sayin'.

Troll moonkin > all
Arbitor Nov 20th 2009 4:04AM
Dear god.... could we be actually seeing.... a SKINNY MOONKIN?!?!!?
In retrospect I always thought all the chicken fat was what gave all that extra armour. *Shrug*

That guy needs to hold the camera still. I feel like I'm watching Cloverfield.
Cephas Nov 19th 2009 8:04PM
They probably wouldn't let him bring the tripod.

Yeah, I can't even watch these videos on full screen without feeling sick.
On that note, be sure to click through through to Youtube as there IS a part 2!
Teni Nov 19th 2009 9:49PM
I was at Blizzcon... if the video is from there, the guy was being really careful not to be busted with his camcorder. They did not allow us to take pictures or video of the game footage.
The most remarkable thing for you to watch is the transformation with the puff of smoke. It was quite photorealistic and markedly different from any other graphic in the game.
Lumorei Nov 19th 2009 7:57PM
aww, phooey.
Thorie Nov 19th 2009 7:57PM
Is it just me or does the Moonfire spell at 1:11 look sexier?
Muse Nov 19th 2009 9:01PM
I had to log into the game to compare. Yes indeedy. Very pretty.
kooda Nov 20th 2009 5:47AM
Yeah its pretty, looks ... pure
catharsis80 Nov 20th 2009 2:32PM
It looks like even the Wrath animation is better. But the flaming transformation to Worgen form was the most amazing. It almost looked like CG movie quality.
Peacebone Nov 19th 2009 7:57PM
screw the werewolves! I'm on team Edward!
kabshiel Nov 19th 2009 8:40PM
Must be a lot of Jacob fans here.
Super Guest Man 9000 Nov 19th 2009 9:00PM
Or just people who despise Twilight because its nothing more than fem-wank material and an even more terrible movie.
