WoW Moviewatch: Level 1 Dwarven Hunter Raid
This sort of video isn't usually considered to be WoW Moviewatch material. I can admit that. But the video still made me smile, and it has enough unique qualities that it's a step apart from the usual "Level 1 Raid video." So, take a moment and check out Level 1 Dwarven Hunter Raid.
First, the music used by the Warcraft Hunters Union gives the video a sense of narrative motion. There's definitely a building crescendo and anticipation to the events. Second, there isn't the usual rapid-fire spam of tiny numbers telling you how much damage the level 1 raiders are performing.
Last, these chaps made it all the way to a dragon. And won. They admit that there was a level 80 or two floating around to give some hep, and they mostly zerged the dragon to death. Still, it's a nice little surprise at the end of a fun video.

That many level one hunters(well two or three since they dinged along the way) taking out an outdoor raid boss is as awesome as can be. Even if they had a few 80's helping that was still epic.

You know what's funny - that was more EPIC then any raid idea Blizzard has EVER come up with.
90 level 1 characters all fighting together against a common foe.
Too bad rest of the game takes the "Massively" part of the MMORPG definition and flushes it down the toilet...

Fun video, but I have to call bullshit on Ysondre. They wouldn't be able to hit him. At all.
Karilyn Nov 19th 2009 12:09PM
Hit chance "capped" at 5% minimum.
It was a 40 man raid boss at level 60.
90 level 1 hunters?
Yeah I call bullshit too :P

Skull type bosses are the hardest mobs to kill in WoW. Their level is not displayed as a number, but as a death's head sign. These bosses have a "dynamic" level - when a numeric level is required for some calculation, they are considered to be 3 levels above the player character involved in that calculation. That is, if both a level 60 warrior and a level 65 druid both tank the same skull type boss, the boss will make crushing blows on the warrior as if it was 63, and on the druid as if it was 68. Similarly, the boss will resist their respective powers as a 63- and 68-level creature would. The first skull type boss that a player may fight with in PvE
not sure but from the way this sounds boss have no lvl and are 3 lvls higher then the player attcking them whether or not it goes backwards to lvl 4 not sure im not blizzard but to me this shows it could have been possible for them to hit more often then everyone thinks.

I lol'd hard when they started fighting the world dragon. :D
catharsis80 Nov 19th 2009 12:28PM
I can't imagine what it sounded like while playing to hear all those 90 cannons firing constantly. Awesome.
catharsis80 Nov 19th 2009 12:32PM
Yeah, NOW this comment shows up.
catharsis80 Nov 19th 2009 12:32PM
It would have been awesome to hear 90 guns firing at one target constantly.
jackfinished Nov 19th 2009 12:35PM
I was actually there and we were hitting Ysondre (obviously not all shots but before the 80's kicked in we got her to like 2%). And our saving grace was the fact that there was a graveyard close by so you had maybe 20 seconds after you died to when you could be fighting again.
It was a lot of fun, if I remember there were 2 lvl 80 hunters and an 80 paladin. Plus ~90 lvl 1 or 2 hunters.
Slaytanic Nov 19th 2009 12:57PM
Nope. I still call bullshit.
Steve Nov 19th 2009 12:37PM
Do you even get a gun at level 1?
Shoryu Nov 19th 2009 12:40PM
youve obviously never rolled a hunter...
jackfinished Nov 19th 2009 12:39PM
Yep you start out with one :-)
William Nov 19th 2009 12:44PM
:s

"youve obviously never rolled a hunter..."
Which is maybe, just MAYBE, why he's asking the question, smarty-pants.
Sargenus Nov 19th 2009 12:38PM
I call BS on Ysodre, too. Sorry.
When you die to her you get a debuff, that if you get near her you're put to sleep for 4 minutes every 7 seconds for 15 minutes.
But it looked great either way! xD
Sargenus Nov 19th 2009 12:39PM
Ysondre* WTB edit.
jackfinished Nov 19th 2009 12:42PM
Yeah we did get that, but I rezzed quite a few times before the end of it.
