Around Azeroth: All heads must bow
Kensaij of <Modan Co> on Moon Guard wrote in in praise of a local guild's recent anniversary event. "I know that Moon Guard has a somewhat bad name, both amongst RPers and PvP/PvE-ers who don't RP," he writes. "But there is one guild who face the tides of griefers without fear, who show that good roleplaying is NOT dead: The Knights of Menethil. A guild of Death Knights who are not your cliché angsty villians, but dead heroes that still triumph, who press on while the living mourn their fallen brothers."
"On the 13th of November, they had their first anniversary, which they celebrated with a 35-man march, from the Ebon Hold to the ruins of Lordaeron where they paid tribute, to Southshore where they were greeted and saluted by Horde emissaries ... and finally Stormwind, where they once again pledged our loyalty to King Varian Wrynn (and afterwards they naturally had a rockin' ball with plenty of cupcakes, fireworks, ghouls and dancing ogres!)." Congratulations on the party, Knights of Menethil; it makes me almost want to come back to playing on MG.

Now, all those people on one knee to Varian may look bad, but I guess they're not swearing loyalty to Rhonin - they haven't hit rock bottom yet.

I see my own draenei tail in that shot! ^.^
Knights of Menethil is an amazing guild, and I am thrilled to be a part of them! It was an amazing party!
If anyone is intrigued by Kensaij's write-up of us, we can be found at http://kofm.guildlaunch.com - Warning: Turn down your speakers, our GM likes to ambush with strange, very loud music.

At first glance I thought that was TLK, not varian...

Congradulations on the first anniversary of your Guild.

I'm not on an RP server, but this sort of stuff is cool.

*Moonguard* has a bad name? I know people that keep transferring there because they think Ravenholdt has a bad name.

I'm on the Moon Guard server horde side and wasnt aware at all about this reputation. In fact I thought we had the exact opposite reputation for RPers. . . .

Congrats, Knights of Menethil! I hope to be able to join you on your pilgrimage next year.

Moon Guard hardly has a bad name... o_O It's pretty much widely known as the only half-decent RP server around. Or, at least, when I first started it was, but I still don't hear anything bad ever said about it.
The RP is usually enjoyable, and there's a fair mix of progression for an rp realm that a lot of others don't have much of. Granted it's still a bitch and a half to find a guild that both RPs -and- cares a whit about doing well at the game. It's either one or the other with Moon Guard.

Most RP servers are this way.

Very true, which is why I haven't bothered to waste any money on a transfer. :P

The only bad thing I ever hear about Moon Guard is that they trash talk every other RP server. And now they've finally gotten around to their own ...
Kensaij Nov 21st 2009 2:07PM
Apalogies for my statement; I love playing on Moon Guard and I've made some great friends there, but for the last year or so that I've played on it I always heard more negative then positive things about 'our' reputation. Apalogies for that. :)

The thing I hear about Moon Guard is the ERP in Goldshire. I've seen pics and it makes me thankful that my Alliance Characters aren't on a RP server. My Horde characters, on the other hand, are.
Kia Nov 21st 2009 5:16PM
Goldshire is like that on -every- server. Don't tarnish Moon Guard by presuming it's the only place.
zaver88 Nov 21st 2009 6:10PM
No, it isn't. When I go past Goldshire Inn on Frostwolf, I don't see or hear ERP. I don't see the crowds of people that I've seen in the images.
Ringo Flinthammer Nov 21st 2009 8:35PM
Goldshire is like that on every RP server, at least.

Moon Guard has a bad reputation? That's news to me. I've been playing on the server for a few months now, and it's one of the most RP intensive servers out there, and the non-rpers and rpers tend to leave each other alone.
The Exiled Warlock Nov 21st 2009 4:22PM
I told a friend of mine just last week I was thinking about rolling a Death Knight for RP since I had finally struck up a backstory that I felt wasn't 100% cliche. First place she suggested? Moon Guard. And I've heard not a bad word about it. oO; (Except the ever present talk of ERP, but I hear that talk about every and any RP server.)
Now just to figure out which side to play on, I was going to join her on the Horde, but dang, these Knights have caught my attention for swinging Alliance on this one. Hmm...
Kia Nov 21st 2009 5:20PM
I've played both Horde and alliance on Moon Guard, and I have to say it's a toss-up. You'll run into some pretty sketchy guilds on Ally-side, like Veritas, but in general I've found much more enjoyable RP with alliance than horde, though there are some fantastic horde rp'ers all the same.
On the other hand, the top guild on Moon Guard is Horde, and if you like PvP, well...yeah. Even with the few decent alliance pvpers it isn't enough, Emberstorm Alliance kind of fails at anything other than AV.
