We are getting multiple tips that some realms are down. Blizzard says that the Whirlwind and Emberstorm battlegroups are down and that they are currently investigating the matter. We'll keep you posted should anything change.
In the meantime, enter to win some real life and in-game loot. Or log on to Zangarmarsh and join the WoW.com guild so you can party with us on Wednesday night.

Update 1:16am: Zarhym says the problems were due to a complete power failure. The power is back on and they are trying to bring the realms up now. The party is still raging on Zangarmarsh.
Update 11:37pm: They have discovered the source of the battlegroup issues, but still no estimate for when they will be back up. We're having an impromptu party on Zangarmarsh if you would like to join us.
Update 11:12pm: I was just able to login. No word yet on the down battlegroups.
Update 10:56pm: An official response: they are working on it.
Update 10:49pm: Many, including me, are having connection issues. There is a huge forum post on the issue, but no blue response yet.

I can't log in either and now the Blizzard background downloader is downloading patch 3.3. Curious.......

that shouldn't be didn't they say it definately wouldn't be tommorrow? you sure it's not downloading the prepatch? my background downloader never started for some reason so i never got it (or it went so fast i never noticed)

Shandris on Emberstorm is down too, also im unable to conect and flushing DNS is not working

well... its sucky , was supposed to get my Dk to 80 today (100k xp away) guess its a sign from blizz .... No more DK's ?

DNS flush didn't work for me. It seems to be wonkier than WoWinsider's comment system.

Yeah, the Seattle data center battlegroups are down. Again. Time to check out that alt I have on another battlegroup.

Sorry no battlegroup. Realms shows battlegroup realms down, however even with a new WTF / config.wtf file, no realms are accessable - even Zangarmarsh

I'm not in either of the "affected" battlegroups, but I was playing, quit WoW to reset my headset/sound prefs, and was "Unable to connect" when I fired up WoW again. This is the first time I've gotten that message repeatedly.

Exactly the same for me...well except the headset part (I was just trying to switch servers...)
