First, Shadowfury's not a spell that all locks have, since you have to be specced fairly deep into destruction to see it. Second, and in all fairness, he DID say that he wasn't gearing the column towards PvP in any way, so your PvP related criticisms are kind of moot. Third, the Soothing Kiss macro was for a special case that he mentioned in the sentences before and was meant for if you happened to want more specific control of the ability. Fourth, I happened to get a heck of a lot of use out of my succubus while I was leveling. She goes quite well with the affliction drain-tanking that he describes in the article. Fifth (and most subjectively) you consider three criticisms on a two page article a reason to call it "terrible"?

One thing you do have going for you is Howl of Terror being dispellable, but I'll admit I didn't know that before you mentioned it.
