Are you kidding? Succubus is the most common standard pet for affliction warlocks running raids and heroics. Destruction warlocks roll with the imp, and demonology warlocks use the felguard, but the succubus is queen of affliction. This may change in 3.3.

As for pvp, I take it you've never been out of the battleground and into the arena, where the succubus gets a lot of use.
