I've often felt that my late entry into the game (mid-2006) has hopelessly compromised my WoW experience: simply too much missed content, always too far behind the server curve. It feels like I've spent most of my game time trying desperately to catch up and never quite succeeding. It definitely had its moments, especially for the first year or so when the world still felt huge and mysterious. It all feels pretty rote now, however, and I'd never intended to give it more than two years anyway. My time in Azeroth is done. WoW is a hell of a game, but it's also deeply flawed and the most insidious time-suck I've ever encountered. For me, anyway, two and a half years is enough.
