Time once again for us to update our
WoW tattoo and
license plate galleries with submissions from you readers. This time around, we've got a few new updates to the tattoo gallery, including Raevyndra of Rexxar's new arm ink above,
these two pieces sent in by Tonya, and Sean J.'s
pretty elaborate Horde crest. If tattoos are your thing, there's definitely some cool
WoW-related ink to check out in there.
This is the
only new license plate addition at the moment, but if you happen to have a WoW-related plate on your car that we haven't seen just yet (or can grab a picture of someone else's -- just stay safe if you happen to be driving at the time), be sure to
send us a note on the tipline. Stay tuned for more tats and plates when we see them.

Still wouldn't do it, unless I was one of the original devs for Warcraft and still working there and it made me enough money to buy a house.

No tattoo's but I got a fade with my DPS shaved on the side of my head.

Some of those horde crests are BRUTAL looking.

I didn't know that both factions' symbols translated to "virgin for life". You learn something new every day.

LOL
Seriously, this seems like a thing that is going to be viewed by most recipients as a mistake in well...oh, already happened.

Alliance might be, Horde looks like any other tribal symbol.
The people who recognize it probably don't think "What a loser, he plays WoW, since... they could pick out the symbol"
People who don't recognize it don't know what it is.
I've worn my For the Horde sweater in public all the time and have gotten a lot of "What's Horde?" I typically say "A team I'm rooting for" and they go on their way. Going on a rant here, but I think people who are ashamed of any indication of being a gamer are pathetic.

Dart's right. People won't see the Horde sign and think "Warcraft loser". They'll just see a tribal sign and think "regular loser". Just remember kids: 99.9% of tattoos are really lame.

@Kabshiel
In your opinion of course. :) People are entitled to do what they desire with their body.
Snark Nov 24th 2009 5:56AM
Dart, you say you're proud of the game but you don't actually say "It's a faction symbol for World of Warcraft... you know, that online game." If you're not ashamed, then say something like this, not try to hide it or be comforted by the fact that only other players will recognize it.

I lol.

Because everyone knows that every symbol stands for just that. I got a Forsaken crest, and it holds a deeper meaning than just the Forsaken thing or World of Warcraft in a whole. Hell, I don't even play the game anymore, but still got it. Now if someone went out and got one randomly without thinking, then I would say yeah, that is kind of sad. But in the end, it's what -that- person wants, and more power to them if they want to pull that card.

How come so many horde, so few alliance tats?
Peacebone Nov 23rd 2009 9:55PM
because so few sixth graders have parents that are willing to let them get tattoos. HA!
nah, I'm kidding.
Mr. Tastix Nov 23rd 2009 9:49PM
Screw the WoW tats! GO TOAD!

Those are my two tattoos on the top. I am a gamer, I am proud of the fact. I do not care what other people think. If people want to bash me and call me a virgin for getting tattoos of my hobby on my arm, that just shows their insecurity with themselves. It is my skin and I will do what I wish with it. Will I regret these tattoos later on in life? Probably not, Video Games have been a big part of my life since I first laid hands on an NES, and nothing will change that.
ayalafatalis Nov 23rd 2009 10:58PM
high five dude. I have a horde tat AND a Goomba for those same exact reasons. I couldnt have pt it better myself

I love nerd/geek tattoos but some of these are just so poorly done. If you're going to get something that will be on your skin forever, please take the time and effort to go to a good tattoo artist and be prepared to pay for quality. There's no excuse for the wavy/uneven lines, scarring and poor coloring in some of these tattoos.
Some of them are really well done but others... yikes. I don't think that geek tattoos are something people will automatically regret when they get older but having a crap tattoo no matter what it is makes that likelihood go up.

Definately agree
Skyrei Nov 23rd 2009 10:25PM
I'm all for self expression of any form... but man some of those tattoos look like it was a dare while drunk at 3 in the morning!
