What's @warcraft up to?
We're not sure what this is. Hell, we're not even sure this is about Warcraft. But it came across the @warcraft twitter this afternoon with the tag "It's Coming - 11/25." That's Wednesday, so I gather we'll see either the next image or the answer to it then.
This isn't the first time Blizzard has played the image game with us -- back in 2008 there was a huge deal over the Diablo 3 runes that were appearing on Blizzard's site before the Worldwide Invitational. Could this be something like that again? We're not sure. It's legitimate speculation, but this is Twitter and not a big PR/Marketing rollout, so who knows. Then again, it's possible Blizzard is learning how to correctly use social media and we're feeding into their marketing campaign, doing all the work for them. In which case, well played.
Tune in Wednesday for more on this oddity.

It is a stack of ritz crackers with peanut butter slopped on the top, photo turned upside down.

It's actually a walking animation for Hippogryph. At least, I want it so much I can make anything look like it with my mind.

Stealing a reply. If you look VERY close the red area has an eye- which makes it seem to me to be a dragon. As for the rest of it, no clue.

That one they did before the Worldwide Invitational where they announced Diablo 3.

If only it was 11/24 instead. Patch 3.3 tomorrow! But sadly 11/25 is a Wednesday /cry. I wonder what it could be?
Muse Nov 23rd 2009 3:08PM
Wednesdays are patchdays too. :p
epicboyz Nov 23rd 2009 3:31PM

Qot Nov 23rd 2009 5:22PM
If they do any patch stuff this week, I'll be so disappointed. Too many people traveling for the holiday to try and see the new stuff.
Warlock Nov 23rd 2009 2:56PM
My guess is that it's going to be the WoW Magazine preview that they've been saying is almost ready.

@Warlock
^^^ This.
If not, then i hope it is Cataclysm Alpha.
Sakiris Nov 23rd 2009 3:03PM
Um...Cataclysm Alpha? There has been enough footage shown where this is feasible...
My bets were 3.3 released this week, but if there is some big announcement Wednesday, I doubt 3.3 will be dropping around the same time.
curtisrutland Nov 23rd 2009 3:07PM
The alpha wouldn't be announced. If you were to happen to get an invite (because you work for or know someone who works for Blizz) you would be bound not to divulge any information from it.
Biig d Nov 23rd 2009 3:16PM
The fact alpha participants can't annouce it doesn't mean blizzard can't, surely?
Suzaku Nov 25th 2009 10:47AM
They never announced Alpha. Ever. It's friends & family only.
Someone will probably scrounge up the download site, and some players might leak stuff, but that's usually all we get until beta.

In the past F&F Testers could tell people they were testing, they just couldn't say anything else about it.
In the Vanilla F&F Alpha one of the devs told a funny story on the closed forums about how how in the EQ Beta they had a strict NDA that didn't allow him to tell anyone he was in the Beta. Thus he spent lots of time locked away playing but he couldn't tell anyone what he was spending so much time on. Eventually, his GF accused him of cheating on him at which point he had to choose between the NDA and or his girlfriend.
I wonder if he missed her... :p
But for reasons like that Blizz allows people to say they're in. They just can't share specifics. So when the Alpha opens to people outside the offices, we'll know about it.

William Shatner's probably going to set up shop next to Mr. T and start handing out Scrolls of the Breathless Monologue.
Raaj Nov 23rd 2009 3:16PM
I figured that he'd be selling Potions of Dramatic Pause instead. That Priceline gig can't be paying all that well, can it?
