At the end of the video you see tinkertown and it resembles the tram section of gnomeregan alot. Was blizz intending of connecting Gnomeregan and IF together or would they maybe just create a cosmetic detail like a caved in tunnel?

They look similar because they both use the gnomish art sets. The gnomes built both settlements, after all.

The original Tinker Town had tracks that went both directions, as I recall (the tram wasn't working in Ironforge 1.0), so presumably the theory was that you could ride the tram to Gnomeregan, if the troggs hadn't taken it.

If the gnomes do retake Gnomeregan (something I've only seen players suggest about Cataclysm), I hope the tramline is extended to Gnomeregan, rather than scuttled.
