where to start?
i suppose ill start with how i got into wow. id always been a diablo fan. LOVED DII well one day my brother comes home with the box set for WCIII and im like wtf is this rts bull. so i open the box and look through its contents. every blizzard item big or small comes with a pamphlet of information about other blizz products. so im flippin through seeing all the awesome diablo stuff and warcraft stuff and then i stumbled upon world of warcraft. mind you this was in 2004 it was still a BIG deal. so im like wtf is this, i start to googling and looking around for information. nothing but a few pages and the official site. apparently a friend had gotten in on the beta and decided to buy it at launch, no more than a week later he installed it on my homecomputer and allowed me to use his account for a while when he wasnt playing. we coordinated and i ended up with a level 14 dwarf paladin a couple weeeks later....hadnt bought a single skill since lvel 2 because i went back at 3 and there werent any skills so i figured "it'll tell me when its time again" it never did. someone finally set me straight and i couldnt bare to look at my failure again so i quit playing for a few weeks. turns out the friend we borrowed from got a new account and let us keep his old one. i got a mage to 25 in a few weeks played time. i spent most of my time frolicking in stormwind or adventuring in the foot hills of redridge. occasionally waltzing past the blackrock orcs that hide behind the rock outside of redridge. not knowing about them i ran up and was one shot. wtf? so i kept doing it day after day just hoping once id make it past....i never did. til i leveled of course.
anyway. im now 5 years deep with a newer account an 80 warlock 70 belf pally and an assortment of other characters. i look back now at all the time i wasted being a confused noob. wondering wtf Scholo, DM:east, and DM: west, or BRD were. let alone how to do them.
i had friends who raided but i was still a befuddled little nub exploring anything and everything. god i was bad at this game.
im still a slow leveler as im entirely too social but still i know where im going.
the game has lost a lot of the AWE i experienced after creating my dwarf paladin but i still play it occasionally.
