The lack of customization in WoW is one of my biggest gripes with the game. I hate standing in Dalara, or any capitol city for that matter, and seeing my exact clone run by at least six or seven times. Other games, heck even my Wii has more customization on my Miis, have so much more flexibility when it comes to building and desiging your avatar that WoW is starting to look shamefully bad.
I think the lack of individuality detracts from the immersion in the game. It's already painfully obvious that any action I take has no lasting effect on the world at large, but my character isn't even an individual. The level of immersion and suspension of disbelief would benefit greatly from more in depth character creation.
