The first time I installed WoW, I was like, "YAY, I get to make a person now!" (I've bought all 3 Sims games just to create people. That's all I do.) So when I got to the character creation screen and realized I could only choose from different faces, hairstyles and skin colors for each race, I literally almost decided right then not to play the game. I eventually got over it, but before Burning Crusade, I never played for more than 2 hours at a time and never had a character over level 40. I just didn't care to play a human with her dumpy walk and stupid Macarena dance. After BC came out, I started a Draenei, leveled her pretty high, then switched to a Blood Elf. Now I raid exclusively Horde-side. How far I've come.tl;dr version: Burning Crusade's awesome-tastic graphics made a super casual player into a weekly raider. They also were the tipping point in convincing my boyfriend to play WoW, too. Now he plays more than I do.So, Blizzard. GIVE US BETTER CHARACTER MODELS, FOR GOD'S SAKE. And keep them all updated so the Blood Elves don't eventually look as bad as the back of Night Elves' necks do today. Bleh.
