Breakfast Topic: What do you do when your server is down?
The players on the Emberstorm and Whirlwind battlegroups have had a rough week. A massive power outage, huge network issues and other problems have forced them away from their virtual homes to find refuge elsewhere. Some have joined the It came from the Blog guild on Zangarmarsh, where we have had two impromptu server outage parties. The picture above is from Tuesday night's shindig.
Others have commented in the outage posts that they have formed level 1 raids on other servers. And of course there are other games to play.
Personally, if both Zangarmarsh and my main server are down, I figure it's time to start watching what's on the DVR and knitting. What do you do when your server is down?

I don't recommend this to everyone, but a fun way of fighting anti-RPers who are squatting your server because theirs is down is by fighting fire with fire. Start yelling stuff like "Fetch the noose!", "We don't need your kind around here!" or "Scum, scum, scum! Go back to where you're from!" from the classic Chevy Chase comedy "Fletch Lives". I can testify that it has worked for me on at least one occasion. :P

Being from Cenarion Circle which is an RP server that has been down the last two nights due to issues i know how it is to have non RPers taunt people that do enjoy RP. So what my guild has done has made characters on Khaz Modan to level. Got into a newish guild and have met a really cool gm that has applied to our guild on CC. So we've been there the last two nights just having fun with the game they way it was when we started ... low level, broke and playing the game because we want to have fun.

I play WoW in my music studio, so there is always plenty to do when the servers go down or the bgs waits are loooooooooooong, which they have been for a while.

I can't recall when my server was down for a long period of time, but I have high level alts on at least two other servers that I can play on. However, Torchlight is a very fun game and I also have a slew of other games if I need to get a game fix.

Drugs and Pizza. Then more drugs. Then some more drugs.
...until the voices stop and/or I pass out.
World of Warcraft: It's my anti-drug.

I too have been hearing voices as of lately.
But it seems to be spanish, so I have no clue what they are saying.

I almost always knit while playing WoW. Waiting for raids to fill up, between boss pulls, etc. So if the server goes down I'm probably knitting and watching tv.

I have alts scattered across 4 or 5 realms, so I'll usually pick one of those up and play until I get tired of not being able to be reckless and survive. Then I'll switch on the Hulu.com and start checking out new shows, see if there's anything I need to get hooked on.

I kidnap my RL friends pets and take pictures of them and email them back from a newly created email address . I then advise them if they want to see thier pets again they will contact Blizzard and get my server back up.

Eh, play on Xbox or look at random stuff on the Internet.
And the Rock Band DLC. :D

What did I do?
...create a belf dk on a different server and run around the ebon hold and try to jump off the edge. And dive-bomb the eye of acherus into the scarlet crusade

I write my stories, both originals and fanfics. I listen to music, watch movies, or play other video games. WoW is fun and I really do like playing it, but it's not so necessary that I yell about it.
When server went down both times, I went "Huh? Well, that sucks." and went to doing other times.

I make an alt
or I die a little on the inside. You know, whichever.

Not sure where to send suggested breakfast topics, so here it goes:
While PvPing a pair of Hordies today in Darnassus near the Pilgrim tables I got a scolding from a fellow Alliance member, "Leave them alone, they're just trying to get an achievement!" I'm going for [City Defender] myself, and the only real opportunity to do so is during holiday events on my server.
So do you cut fellow gamers some slack and let them waltz through your home city to fish up Old Crafty, or do you smash their faces in without mercy?

You mentioned knitting, and I can't help but ask. Do you participate in Knit-a-Sweater November?
