World of Warcraft and Battle Chest on sale for Black Friday

The regular WoW vanilla game (useful for leveling to 60, but if you want to go past that, you'll have to buy the expansions) is on sale in a few places for super cheap -- the Ladies of Leet saw it at Best Buy for just five bucks, and Gamestop's matching that price. Gamestop also will have the Battle Chest (with WoW and BC and a few other goodies) for $19.99, and Newegg has the same price if you don't want to fight the crowds. Unfortunately, there's no sign of Wrath on sale -- you'll still have to pony up the $40 if that's the one you want. But stay tuned in the comments -- if readers can find better prices on this stuff, we're sure you'll see them below. Good luck out there, happy deal finding.

Blizzard really needs to start including WotLK in that battle chest; in fact, they should've bundled all three together in time for this Christmas. Ah, missed opportunities.

then the battle chest would cost $19.95 + the price of WorLK... Ah, people who don't know shit about what they talking!
Mr. Tastix Nov 27th 2009 12:06AM
Ah, Mister EDgAr you... idiot. I won't even give you the pleasure of knowing why.

The battle chest /w Wrath will be a Cataclysm product. The current game is Wrath so full price makes them more profit off it as a strictly standalone product.
If you add it to the battle chest too early you end up hurting the wrath 'overall sales' (which would make big bad Acti-mom mad). I doubt they'll push the price up too much as new expansions are added, since the battle chest is one of those standard value-priced products of blizzard.
When Cataclysm comes out (or in the few months before) that'll be the focus so wrath will get bundled in the cheaper way to the game.
Right now I'd assume this is the push to get rid of the WoW+BC battlechest stock for the new updated ones in the spring/summer?

Americans over consuming culture at its best... Disgusting people!

Good thing you're not spending $14.99/€12.99 a month on any particular type of leisure, there, Buddha.
Mister EDgAr Nov 26th 2009 8:44PM
What a small narrow mind you have there. Poor little child. It never was about 1 product. Wait! What do I see there in the original post!? Are those the word Over Consuming? I guess it is and one next to the other.. I wonder what secret and undecipherable meaning they have?
I guess we'll never know.

Ahahah, Mr. Edgar, you're a complete knob. X)

Yes, call all of us americans disgusting, narrow-minded overconsumers. Because we're ALL like that, right?
Practice what you preach. Just because a lot of people are doesn't mean we're all shitty people. Get over your prejudices, and yourself if you don't mind.
If you won't, fine. That high horse is sure to give you a sore ass any day now.

Actually, it's been offered at this price for a while, at least sporadically. I bought a Battle Chest for a friend about a year ago (maybe more), and went to return it several months later (sans receipt.) They took it back, but were only able to give me the "cheapest recent price" which was $20. I paid something like $40, but wasn't expecting a full recup of funds, was just thankful they took it back and gave me cash!
This was, though, at Target.

Soo... does England get any black Friday deals?.
Snuzzle Nov 27th 2009 3:30AM
Maybe if you order from a US website. Since England doesn't celebrate Thanksgiving.....
Wither Nov 27th 2009 6:33AM
@kooda. Some international chains are offering discounts today for UK consumers in UK stores. I know Apple is and I'm reliably informed by my girlfriend that lots of clothing stores are too.

So ive been thinking for a while now of using the RAF bonus to level my alt faster. Ive been looking for black friday deals and I think vanilla wow is on sale for $4.99. So my question is: is there any way for canadians to buy without actually driving south of the border? I mean is there a way for me to order this online and get it shipped to my place?
It's a 6 hour drive from my place to detroit or buffalo and if you factor in the gas money and time wasted its not that good of a deal anymore. So if anyone could help, It would be appreciated.

Mister EDgAr Nov 26th 2009 8:15PM
it's sold at bestbuy, ebgames, futureshop, ... for like 20 bucks.
Mister EDgAr Nov 26th 2009 10:37PM
Lol
My perfectly legit and appropriated answer is getting thumbed down by the little haters.. Not that there is anything surprising there coming from the land of censorship.
Sky Nov 26th 2009 10:40PM
thats cause best buy, future shop and ebgames DO NOT sell them for 20 bucks.....
Your answer is not legit and is very inappropriate. We are not haters... Go troll somewhere else....
