With the increased availability of raiding, I've actually noticed a move away from raiding guilds, or even PvE guilds in general. What I'm seeing more and more are purely social guilds that have semi-scheduled pugs together. Only the bleeding edge players really need a guild to get stuff down (i.e. ToGC 25 or Yogg+0 25). I actually kinda like this set up since you can still progress and feel a sense of accomplishment without having to deal with "that guy" constantly spamming gchat. I also think this promotes a more laid-back atmosphere, which I definitely appreciate. Unfortunately, Cataclysm will basically destroy this system since there will be more incentives to put up with "that guy" for bonuses for raiding.
