" Maybe I'm just out of touch with that demographic, but I don't encounter or even hear about very many [non-raiders] anywhere in the WoW community"There's plenty of us non-raiders around. But since all the WoW community talks about is raid-raid-raid, often (but not always) with some kind of holier-than-thou attitude towards non-raiders, we go elsewhere.

Another non-raider here. Chalk it up to a combination of past bad raid guilds, not wanting to have to schedule my life around raids, and bad pugs but I now have zero interest in raiding. Actually earlier today I did try out a VOA pug for the first time in months... and between AFKers, summons, inviting people to group and wiping repeatedly on Koralon I just wasted an hour of my life with nothing to show for it except another checkmark in the "no, not interested in raiding" column. I have been guildless for about the last 4-5 months since it seems like the only 2 kinds of guilds that exist on my server are "leet progression-driven 3-nights-of-raids-a-week-required" or "casual family-friendly leveling" (which typically means lowbies wanting to be run through dungeons constantly or expecting their guild to be an ingame version of Wowhead).
