Val'anyr destroyed after lost bet
As you may have noticed, there was no patch 3.3 this week, which means the guesses are starting to be wrong. Way back in October, we guessed that the patch would drop sometime in the next three weeks (on Tuesdays, of course), but Matt "Matticus" Low was an outlier -- he said in the aftershow of this podcast that the patch would drop on December 1st. In fact, he said he was so sure that he'd shard his legendary mace Val'anyr if it didn't.
Of course, as you now know (since you're logging into the realms and the patch isn't out yet), he was wrong. And so, as you can see above, we made him delete (since you can't disenchant legendary items) the mace. He's bummed, but he'll get over it, we're sure. That's what you get for betting on patch dates.
So when will the patch drop? Next week (the 8th) is an excellent guess, and I believe it's Turpster's guess as well. In fact, in the same podcast linked above, I believe I bet $20 (or 50 levels, but surely T wants the money) that it wouldn't drop next Tuesday.

follow it up with a video of a GM saying somthing along the lines of;
"No, we will not restore your VAl'anyr, you have used all of your account's restores" or really, it didn't happen.

I certainly hope so. That mace doesn't belong to him, it belongs to his guild, at least until it's completely outdated by even shinier gear.
As such, I find this whole thing shameful. His initial statement, the browbeating to follow through with it, and his actually performing the deed.
After all, there is never a guarantee that a GM will restore an item for you.

Bah. Nevermind. Haha, using the PTR to pull a prank on your readers, very cute. *rolleyes*

You can see the PTR feedback minimap icon in the video guys...lol . did you Really think he'd delete something that took months to make?
Matt Dec 2nd 2009 10:12AM
he only said he would delete it, he didn't say it would be on the live relems.
Clint Dec 2nd 2009 10:14AM
Ha! That's awesome. PTR ftw!
Banic Rhys Dec 2nd 2009 10:31AM
I bet he's either petitioned a GM or he recreated his character on the ptr or a private server.

What a waste of time and effort... Even if it was his mace its not like he was the only person who put work into getting it. If one of only two healers that have it in my guild did that, I would feel like I just got slapped in the face.
