Around Azeroth: The mushroom kingdom
As dark and depressing as it may seem when you're slogging through the swamps, Zangarmarsh can be considered one of the most visually detailed zones in the game. "I was flying into Zangarmarsh from Terokkar and noticed just how beautiful this game can be at times," writes Scomparsa of Earthen Ring. "The sunlight streaming around those massive, otherworldly mushrooms just took my breath away. I play this game for these kinds of moments, and after almost 4 years of playing, they still happen on a regular basis." Sure, it's pretty, but if we're looking for stunning visuals, I'm going to have to go with Tim Tebow crying on the sidelines. Hey-o!
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@gmail.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word "Azeroth" in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing -- use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, Val'kyr on mounts, or pictures of the Ninja Turtles in Dalaran. Older screenshots can be found here.

Its UF, not FSU. Saying that in Florida is likely to get you shot! I wish I was somewhere I could have watched the game! I hate Tebow and how high and mighty he acts, and to hear that he got his ass kicked is beautiful!

When I saw the outlands, and particularly the Zangarmarsh zone, for the very first time in the TBC beta, I was blown away by all this otherworldly stuff that's been a welcome creative contrast to the old classic Azeroth. Northrend is currently much more detailed, though (thanks to better hardware during the past years), and I do hope that the outlands get the same revision when the 4th expansion is released. That, plus new otherworldly stuff like draenei planet Argus. I'm gettimg a bit bored by classic worlds these days, and Cataclysm with the exception of the elemental planes will be mostly classic, too. The game needs dream and space stuff again! :)

I loved Zangermarsh the first time I set foot in it during BC. It was such a welcome change from the unrelenting reds of HP.

I completely agree, one of the things that pulled me in was the idea of the normal world, then this 'Outland' in space you could go to.
Northrend is cool and all, and so will cataclysm be, but I do agree later o they should update the stories and zones in Outland, and even expand on them to Argus and whatnot.

The Emerald Dream would be a great opportunity to go ahead with freestyle fantasy stuff, maybe the ED is even the perfect transition to the 4th expansion in a revamped Outland and planets like Argus.

The "space" stuff hasn't been well received (at least to anyone that I've talked to. I don't see if being pushed forward any time soon.

zangarmarsh and nagrand are my two favorite zones in-game so far. but the skies of outland really take my breath away sometimes.

With risking again to eluding to my past history of consuming items that gave "interesting" debuffs long before I met WoW....when I first entered Zangarmarsh I became serverely and wonderfully tripped out. Similar effects where experienced when first visiting Shattrath City, outskirts of Terokkar Forest and Nagrand. The only time I came barely close to this state was in Northrend was flying around the Furbolg city in Grizzly Hills. I really hope Blizz makes more places like these.
Also note: I'm not sure if was a screenshot here or on the official WoW site that eluded to this...but one of those mushrooms contains a very distinct Alice in Wonderland reference. Very nice touch.
