Signed World of Warcraft: Cataclysm poster up for auction on eBay

Up on eBay until December 7th at 5:00 p.m. PST is this World of Warcraft: Cataclysm poster signed by Blizzard designers and other members of the WoW team. This auction is entirely for charity, with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue.
We've been able to verify this auction's authenticity through an anonymous source. We are certain all of the signatures are from the World of Warcraft team at Blizzard. However, this is not an official Blizzard auction -- but just something that everyone participated in as a nice thing to do.
This is the kind of collectible anyone reading this site would probably want. I know the WoW.com team began bidding furiously when we learned of its legitimacy. I imagine many of you will as well. When we learned of the poster the top bid was at $42, however now it's up to $100. Something tells me it won't stay there for long.
Update: We want to note the person running the auction has updated their post to say that this is a print of the original item.

Can't say i've ever really understood the desire for autographs ala "omg that pen touched his hand, and touched this poster that I'm now touching!"
But for those that do, happy bidding! :)

Well, in the FAQ about the item, it says it's one of the many reproductions of the original signed copies... Still wondering if it's reprinted poster with real signatures but from the looks of it, it doesn't seem that way.

Oh wow, yeah... just looked at the auction and they updated it in their Q & A.
The whole thing is a print including the signatures.
Zohra Dec 15th 2009 7:18PM
Yeah I own this, and it is in fact a print...signatures and all.

Hehe, that'll never happen. ;) I remember once I wrote a comment in reply to one of the WoW.com ladies (it was one of the Elizabeth's I believe), because I believed she'd made a mistake in her post and went about disputing the position. Even when I finished posting the comment hers was still there. However, when I came back 2 minutes later her post was corrected, and there were half a dozen replies to mine going "she didn't even say that duuuh" and I had been heavily down-ranked. ;)
Now, considering the short time-frame, it's quite possible that she was editing her post at the same time as I was writing mine, and simply submitted her changes after I'd finished writing my post. I tried to explain, but my explanations got down-ranked too! Hehehe. :) From my few experiences speaking to WoW.com'ers via email/whatever rather than in comments, I don't think they'd ever do something like that maliciously. It just seems, unless your comment is reported, it ain't getting deleted.
Ooh - theres an idea.. we could all report your post! ;)

It's alos had little media attention.
Trust me, the blogs will talk and the masses will listen, and someone among those masses is prepared to spend some serious money

Golden Retrievers? Really?
mike Dec 6th 2009 7:41PM
That's what I was thinking.
What a random and somewhat unimportant cause to support.
peagle Dec 6th 2009 7:52PM
@mike
"somewhat unimportant"? Volatile words my friend....

"What a random and somewhat unimportant cause to support."
Just because you don't find it important doesn't make it not. Animals need help just as much as humans especially with the neglect many are treated with by people with the mindset like yours.

As it's a Golden Retriever shelter that has the poster, I think the most likely cause they'd support would be their own. Nothing odd there? :)

this was a giveaway at blizzcon this year for finding a special box in the goblin/worgen starting zones.
Its a print of a poster that was signed by the team, if that matters to anyone. Looked pretty cool at the con though. And i suppose charity...hmm.
Janaa Dec 6th 2009 7:49PM
If this is merely a print and not the original signed poster, the auctioner should probably mention it in the fine print.

not according to the auction itself
