Legendary is such a misleading term. Atiesh is supposed to be one the most powerful artifacts used by one of the most powerful individuals in the history of Azeroth and now it can't stand up to a Northrend green. The same is true of most Legendary weapons; by the time the expansion is over and the next new tier of raiding comes out you'll get a drop that will be an upgrade. Suddenly your legendary is replaced and you move on, just like all gear.People get way too attached to that orange text.

It's just the nature of the level-based system. I mean, VanCleef is supposed to be an incredible bad-ass, but most level 80s could probably kill him blindfolded these days. People are soloing content that used to require 40 people to complete. Does that mean that old-school Onyxia wasn't really powerful? That Ragnaros was a pansy? Not in the least. It's just a consequence of the game design. Eventually you have to just shrug your shoulders, accept it, and move on.

I agree. Perhaps I wasn't clear. A legendary is just a slightly good epic with orange text. If you have fun making it get it. All gear is replaced eventually that is just the nature of the game. Don't get too attached to that orange, they already announced the next expansion and I doubt anyone will be using Shadowmourn when they fight Deathwing.
