Looks like we're in for a long maintenance period with a great reward for our patience this week, folks.
Blizzard announced their window for this week's scheduled downtime on the official forums, and given its length,
we'll be seeing Icecrown tomorrow after all.
Maintenance is scheduled to start at
1 AM PST/4 AM EST and end at
11 AM PST/2 PM EST. Given that this is a patch day, it's likely that maintenance will be extended at least once, likely several times, meaning your forays into Icecrown might end up a little later than you expect. Just remember that this is the big one, the one we've been waiting for, and that you can wait a little bit longer.
In the meantime, brush up on what's coming with
Patch 3.3 in
our big ol' guide.
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of
Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to Arthas.
WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news.

Gonna run some heroics with the new LFG system. Get me some Triumph badges and get me some full T9. Then I can look forward to Icecrown.
I'm gonna impale Arthas with my Quel'Serrar.

Hope nobody is expecting to play tomorrow - We've pretty much canceled all raids and guild activities until Thursday.
Nick Dec 7th 2009 9:26PM
Love that they are doing it much earlier in the night. This way they can trying and work out as many bugs as possible, and whatever my pop up in the time in between.
Austin Dec 7th 2009 9:27PM
My plan?
1. run daily random
2. run all 3 new dungeons
3. ??????
4. Profit!
Tyr Dec 7th 2009 9:29PM
The realistic result:
1. Run daily rando- World Server Down.
2. Connecting
3. Connecting
4. Shut off PC
Austin Dec 7th 2009 9:34PM
5. Profit? no?
Tyr Dec 7th 2009 9:36PM
Forgot something:
5. Make snowballs.
6. Throw as you see fit.
7. Profit.

He-he!
Patches 3.3.1 and 3.3.2 are finished already and ready for roll-up! :D :D

Major kudos to the people that are either staying all night and/or coming in that early for the patch. I'm grateful for people that can do this and still deal with all the flak they get when the servers aren't up right away.
Hello 3.3!

@Andrew R.
I completely agree and then some. Major props to the Blizzard employees. It's so easy to forget that there are real people on Blizzard's end working their butts off to make this work so we can enjoy the game.
Graham Dec 7th 2009 11:22PM
Yeah, major gratz to Blizzard for being so awesome. These people get it done! Soon! ;)
NeoRyu Dec 7th 2009 9:28PM
WOOT! Good thing I have stuff to do tomorrow, since servers won't be up till late afternoon/early evening. Hopefully that won't be the case though.
lilcasper925 Dec 7th 2009 9:54PM

Kaphik Dec 7th 2009 9:31PM
Looks like tomorrow is a Modern Warfare 2 day for me, then hopefully by 11pm EST I can try out the new LFG tool. Because you KNOW that there's going to be delays and server instability, not to mention ui problems and some bugs.
Snark Dec 7th 2009 11:23PM
I tnow what you mean about the iphone. Ever sinte they replated the "c" and "k" button with "t", I sure as het am having a hard time peting out messages on the internets.
FifthDream Dec 7th 2009 9:34PM
Awesome! :D
But now i have to figure out what i'm going to do all day tomorrow. XD
Katalliaan Dec 7th 2009 9:58PM
I've noticed that there has never been any official confirmation made public that 3.3 is coming tomorrow. Don't know about you folks, but I've a 10g bet that it won't. Guess we'll see.
Trent Dec 7th 2009 10:34PM
I can't think of a time any patch has been officially confirmed the day before. Blizzard very rarely likes to commit to a patch coming out until the day of. So I'd certainly take that bet, if it were a real bet.
It'll be out tomorrow. Not a doubt in my mind.
IvanP91 Dec 7th 2009 10:01PM
But what am i supposed to do during the downtime? School? Learning? Homework?!
Randy* Dec 7th 2009 10:12PM
At least it appears they've learned it's better to start early in the day. The thing I'm most anxious for is the completed quest log. Must become a Loremaster.
