i've been seeing "For Lordaeron" bandied about. i like that better.

I've played both factions too but I am definitely pro-horde. Ever since rescuing Thrall in Old Hillsbrad I've wanted to be able to fight next to and for him. I never got that sense with any of the alliance leaders.

Yeah we do lack a good battlecry lol. I don't get to caught up in it to much, but I rolled alliance because I always imagine the orcs from Lord of Rings, bent on nothing but the destruction of the world and enslavement/murder of everyone not of their race, which, is sort of what the Orcs in WoW started as before they "freed" themselves. Still, when my night elf first reached the end of Ashenvale and found it being deforested and destroyed by orcs for no good reason, I felt like I had chosen the right side. We are the good guys ;) (runs and ducks for cover from angry hordies lol)

My personal favorite alliance battle cry is specific to the draenai but it gets me psyched up with all the feeling they put into it - especially the male draenai.

"For the LIGHT! FOR THE NAARU!" *bash something with light-infused hammer*

I guess not all the alliance worships the light, so other possibilities:

"FOR LOTHAR!"
"FOR LORDARON!"
"Soldiers of Lordaron, rise to meet your master's call!"
"ENTARO TASSADAR"

Er, maybe skip the last couple.

We could also make up our own:

"FOR BOLVAR!"
"FOR THE KING!"
"Haawooooo!" (After Worgen take over the Alliance)

Just some ideas :p.

So the Alliance has lame puns and city/race-specific shouts, but no overall battlecry.

I was tempted to roll a Draenei Death Knight so my battlecry could be "BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD NAARU!"

Then I remembered that my Draenei Paladin is a crazy mad scientist type, so now it's his.

Horde battle cries in general simply have more gusto to them. Alliance battle cries, which noble, can easily come off as a sort of goody-two-shoes sort of yelp.

I think a lot of it also comes down to the fact that when you cry for the alliance, you sound more like a nerdy "Forsooth my brothers, let us hearken upon ADVENTURE!" sort of feel, where as the Horde have a more hardcore "BWAR I'LL EAT YOUR FACE AND USE YOUR BATTERED SKULL AS A TOILET" sort of feel.

I always liked "For the glory of Stormwind!" but I guess that's pretty human-specific.

For Lordaeron? Uh....that's ours now (Undercity). :)

i felt most inspired with alliance pride hanging out with the 7th Legion in dragonblight. (also everytime the chorus bit of the stormwind theme kicks in, but i digress). If the 7th Legion had a good battlecry or motto, maybe it'd help.

also, maybe once Bolvar Fordragon becomes the new lich king, he'll think of something cool for his original faction to yell out in battle? :P

The, "Grab your sword," cry is just SO MUCH FAIL. That's part of it. I mean, inherently we're still shouting THEIR name. I don't want to be defined by the other guy.

For me, I have a LOT more pride in my race faction - Dwarves, than in the alliace as a whole. If I could do a shout in grinding dwarvish I'd be a much happier girl. ;)

Grab your sword - will never catch on. I've been shouting that at Mike while I've been listening to the podcast. ;) They've been all, "it's over." No, it's not. That battle cry sucks. :)

It seems King Varian's (respect our good king, or hang in the marketplace!! >:0 ) official battlecry is "Glory to the Alliance!". Which reminds me of "Glory to the Brave", so not a bad battlecry in itself.

As I often RP as a Scarlet Crusader, it's easier for me since their official greeting is "Glory under the Light". Also, referencing the vision that Lady Abbendis supposedly had of a glorious "Crimson Dawn", I also cry "Hail the Crimson Dawn!" (which may sound like something from an album by an infamous Skinhead Punk band, but the music I listen to is my darn business :P ).
