Second wing of Icecrown Citadel to open in 28 days

Already, a number of guilds have cleared out the first bosses in the lower areas of Icecrown Citadel. After taking down the Deathbringer, talking to your friendly faction hero yields some information as to when the doors will open. In Trial of the Crusader, one new boss opened every week. In Icecrown Citadel, it seems like they're increasing the time between gates. As reported by Stratfu, the next area will open in 28 days (which is expected to be the Plagueworks containing Festergut, Rotface, and Professor Putricide). January 5th is the target date for the next set of bosses.
At the rate we're going (28 days between gates), we won't see Arthas until April.
Patch 3.3 is the last major patch of Wrath of the Lich King. With the new Icecrown Citadel 5-man dungeons and 10/25-man raid arriving soon, patch 3.3 will deal the final blow to Arthas. WoW.com's Guide to Patch 3.3 will keep you updated with all the latest patch news.

So you want to face some new content? - sorry we want some more months subscription out of you yet.
pietrex Dec 9th 2009 4:45AM
I think they will give a week for each boss. So if there are 4 bosses at first, we get 4 weeks. Then if 3 bosses are unlocked, there will be 3 weeks until more are available etc. At least that's what I hope. Because if they really want to release Arthas in April, they're gonna make a huge mistake, because everyone will be bored with ICC by then. Five months is a lot.
Snuzzle Dec 9th 2009 6:29AM
Furthermore, I think a lot of us were hoping the expansion would be released by then, or at least around that time (early summer maybe).
Releasing Arthas in April, to not make the same mistake they did with Naxx where the exp came out way too soon afterwards, would mean we wouldn't see Cata until next WINTER.
....

I know that this sucks for everyone but me.
But since I am me, this is a good thing only because I am currently out 11hours a head of my server, and my guild raids just before I have to get ready for duty.
So this means that Cataclysm will be delayed even further and I have more time to catch up and actually start raiding.
Negnelfi Dec 9th 2009 4:50AM
haha thats fine by me, Gives me longer to sort my gear out having only just returned to the game.
Erin Dec 9th 2009 4:53AM
There goes a Q1 Cataclysm release. On the bright side there won't be a surprise 3.4
Matt Dec 9th 2009 5:02AM
Got that right. Heck July might be optimistic with this kinda releases cycle.
Insanitation Dec 9th 2009 5:52AM
Q1 Release date? HAHAHAHAHA thats the funniest shnit iv ever heard. I would be surprised if its released before 2011.
Raze Dec 9th 2009 7:58AM
I don't see how a 'buffer' patch 3.4 wouldn't be preferable to them milking content that's already done for all its worth just because. New content > "Sorry, our princess is in another castle, but your ability to go after her has a month long cooldown", even if that means we may have to wait a bit longer for an expansion that's date of release is a total mystery.

Welcome to 3.3 Europeans! Servers coming back online. Expect lagfest and random d/cs.
Muse Dec 9th 2009 5:03AM
Thanks for the heads up.
Muse Dec 9th 2009 5:03AM
What, is he gonna throw them at it?
vandenhamster Dec 9th 2009 5:10AM
They're Gnomes! They'll make a Death Ray specifically designed to blow out that door. A Door Death Ray.
If Gnomes weren't such perfectionists when it comes to their tinkering, that door would be down in a day.
kæll Dec 9th 2009 6:24AM
I agree, goblin's would have that door down much faster!
Firinfae Dec 9th 2009 5:08AM
Legitimately, if this is indeed the last raid until Cataclysm, and just guessing that we won't see Cataclysm until late summer at the earliest, this is definitely a staling tactic, but I don't mind, honestly, I'm in no rush =D
