The bottom AV bracket goes from 51-59.
Janaa Dec 9th 2009 6:12PM
Oh really? My 60 Pally has spent a lot of time in the 51-60 bracket.
Janaa Dec 9th 2009 6:13PM
I presume it could have changed recently, however. Can anyone confirm?

"Limits: Level 51-80 players (level range breakup: 51-60, 61-70, 71-80)"
When correcting people, ensure you're correct.

The level brackets have been reorganized as such: 51-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE, computer's working again.
Now to be on topic, saw this in Wikipedia via Wii Internet Channel the other day.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muphry%27s_law
"
"if you write anything criticizing editing or proofreading, there will be a fault of some kind in what you have written". The name is a deliberate misspelling of "Murphy's Law".
"
Thought it was relevant.
Also, thanks for putting these all in one place.

I can confirm from personal experience that the brackets are 80, 70-79, 60-69, (presumably) 51-59. This was a change to AV in 3.2.2 that Blizzard put in accidentally( I think), so it may have been changed again in 3.3, I can't say for certain though. wow.com did an article on this after 3.2.2.
Janaa Dec 9th 2009 7:10PM
yay. :) Thats why i said it may have changed recently, and needed confirmation. I was last rolling around on my pally in January. Its a shame theyv'e changed it.
What with turning off the honor/xp gain, you could run around snapping up Tier 2 gear and hitting AV against levelling DKs. It was sheer beauty.
Oh well, i guess I can delete that toon now. :(
Janaa Dec 9th 2009 7:35PM
@Randomise - From the blue post: "This change was originally planned for patch 3.3 but it was accidently applied to the current patch 3.2.2. "
So no, I don't believe it's changed back. Looks like they wanted to permanently change the brackets as described. Though, having a half-deciate level cap is going to make things interesting..
New brackets 81-84 and then 85? Will be interesting to see how its done across the various BGs.

Is there any sort of guide of pvp strategy? How battlegrounds work isn't hard to understand, but making the jump from pve to (successful) pvp is something that's a lot more difficult, and I haven't seen much about.
Pupp Dec 9th 2009 1:39PM
Here here!!! That's kind of what I thought this column might be about, rather than a rehash of all the other stuff. Even if it's basic strategies for BG's or how about strats for different types of players? Ie: Pally's better at healing or doing the DPS in BG's? Now that's what I'd like to read about or at least know more as I do more BG's.
buckdawg Dec 9th 2009 1:44PM
Altair,
After burning out completely on raiding I made the switch to almost exclusive Pvp a couple months ago. What really helped me was looking up on youtube class related videos, there should be tons of them.
One thing i'd like to add is that there will always be jerks in the battlegrounds espousing their own virtue while belittling everyone else's efforts. they are a vocal minority and not worth getting upset over or engaging in any kind of dialogue. just do you best, have fun and you'll be fine :)

These battleground guides have been great for me in introducing my wife to the game and I wish I'd had them when I was a fresh little noobling.
If you want strategy then I suggest GOOGLE because using it truly "isn't hard to understand". Shoo troll!

As alliance this is my impression of how horde PvP works.

That is what you're looking for.

Your guides, specifically Wintergrasp need some updating. For example, your WG guide states that the southern towers servce no purpose other than for honor. In fact now they have a specific purpose and can make or break a battle.
Markainion Dec 9th 2009 4:33PM
Your right Lisa should not consider this series done with out redueing Winter Grasp. Her link to goes to a 12/14/08 post. Which is a year old, Wintergrasp has had many changes since then, and strategy has been altered a lot aswell. I would also like a chance to discuss how beneficial or lack of it that some of the changes were.
Please make a post on this subject, Lisa, with so many chances since Wintergrasp launce, and it being one of the most popular PVP in Wraith. It deserves a lot more attention than it has gotten.
lisapoisso Dec 9th 2009 4:40PM
Zach is in the process of updating the Wintergrasp articles now. He's quite a few time zones offset from ours, so it may take a bit to catch up. Rest assured that he'll get it covered!
Thanks for reading.

I fail at reading. I never read the article, just the comment and linked exactly Lisa wrote. Someone slap me but please don't take my ale away.
