I've really tried liking The Guild, but on its merits as a show, it really reminds me of some badly acted video made up by some high school kids and their parents. Most of the actors tend to over-act everything they do and the show relies on various videogame references to get viewers to giggle at the "I get that obscure game joke" thrill. I'm sorry, but it's just not very good. I've been playing games for over 20 years and playing mmos for around 10 now, and while I get the references and jokes, I still can't ignore the glaring flaws in the writing or the actors. Even my wife likes horribly unfunny tv shows (she's a big Sifl and Ollie fan if that proves anything) and she can't stand it.I compare people who like this show to people who love McDonald's, then grow up a little and move on to either home-grilled burgers or steakhouse burgers (as in other tv shows). You kinda look back and wonder why you bothered with the other type to begin with. And now come the downvotes...
