Hotfixes incoming for some DPS and tanks, not hunters or priests

- Hunger for Blood will increase damage by 10% instead of 15%. Assassination rogues needed damage, but they got too much, and this will bring them back. Sorry rogues -- the tooltip, we're also told, might not change right away.
- Scourge Strike will crit only once, not on the shadow portion of the damage. "This change just proved to be too bursty in PvP and provide too much sustained damage in raids." He also gives lots more explanation of the change on the forums -- this one will be discussed quite a bit.
- Rolling Corruptions will no longer use the initial haste value indefinitely. More of a bugfix than a change, says GC -- the haste value should drop out to normal after a few ticks of the spell.

that should read "find a friendly engineer of each spec and stick to them" as unless that engineer really really likes you, as soon as you get a different non-gun/non-bow or xbow weap, you'll need one of the other spec
divinite Dec 11th 2009 5:15PM
Seriously. We made one switch to gnomish. 4 engineers (including a non-raider and one of my alts) and we're all goblin. I might switch my alt too considering I'm more likely to use a bow than a gun, but still. That also means lots of rep trash runs for the alt!

This hotfix has been in there since yesterday. I was doing around 5k training dummy dps on my rogue and now I'm down to about 4.5-4.6k. Pretty disappointing.
Other classes can be OP for weeks and months, but when a rogue is OP for 2 days there's such a tidal wave of QQ that the devs swing the nerfbat immediately.
Gridpoet Dec 11th 2009 5:30PM
this is so true, that is literally the first thing i said when i first hear this news last night... Any other class can be OP for months before Blizzard drags themselves around to fixing it... but God help us al if the rogue does .03k DPS to much!!!! Sirens must go off in the Blizz Headquarters....
ARRROOOGA! NERF NOW!! NERF NOW!!!
tonedeff Dec 11th 2009 5:34PM
Have you read the latest blue post? Blizzard has finaly came out and admitted they are out to get you and only you!
Jeff Dec 11th 2009 5:44PM
I guess you never heard of 3.0 then when pallies Dvine Storm was hotfixed just HOURS after the patch
DeathPaladin Dec 11th 2009 5:49PM
Is this using a standardized template for complaints about nerfs?
"I was doing around (insert number here) (choose one: dps/hps/tps) on my (insert your class) and now I'm down to about (insert lower number here). Pretty disappointing.
(Insert class or classes you don't like) can be OP for (insert often hyperbolic time frame), but when a (insert your class) is OP for (insert amount of time your class was OP) there's such a tidal wave of QQ that the devs swing the nerfbat immediately."
I remember reading similar posts to that one from Death Knights, Warlocks, Paladins, Warriors, and Mages. Maybe even some from Druids, Hunters, Priests, and Shaman.

It's like LOL, U MADlibs.

Not complaining, but the same happened to me.
No buffs, just using poisons and keeping my new rotation up [no Rupture] the day of the patch, just a tad over 5k DPS.
Last night? Just over 4.7k.
Between the poison buff to Mut spec and going with a Rupture-less rotation, I saw a large jump in numbers; roughly 1k-1.5k MORE damage, unbuffed, on a dummy. Overall, I'm pretty happy, even after the HFB "fix". 5% is quite a loss, but we've also gained a bit.
Para Dec 12th 2009 12:30PM
Yes because rogues have been SO underpowered that they actually drop to 2nd or MAYBE 3rd!!!!!one111one!
/end sarcasm
Move along people just another clueless rogue here who blaimes his ability to do good dps at blizzard, rather than learning to play.

@ Para
I was #1 on the meters before this change and I'll be #1 after, and I don't need to be OP to artificially prop up my DPS. I know more about my class then you'll ever know about yours. Just because I QQed a little about Blizzard granting us a buff only to revert it 2 days later does not make me a bad.
You can suck it.

Don't act all surprised about this, fellow muties. We all suspected when the reports about the damage increase on the ptr came back that something was going to be nerfed. And, as many of us suspected, the simplest way to do it was with HfB. I happen to think 5% is a pretty big hit, but it is what it is. And keep in mind it's 18% to 13% (not 15% to 10%) since we all have the HfB glyph (which I assume is still at +3%, yes?). By the way, talent tooltip still shows 15% as of Wed afternoon... you'd think that the text would be the easiest part to fix.

Thank goodness for the hotfix to mobs moving around...I thought it was just due to the fact that all the mobs in the new icecrown 5 mans were oversized compared to other mobs...but it's one of the most annoying things to waste shockwave because mobs are flying behind, to the side, and all around you...
Belfonisis Dec 11th 2009 5:17PM
I'm SO glad that is a bug. I thought I was going insane!
Eberron Dec 12th 2009 2:35AM
As I have been yelling in to vent the last couple of days, "ARGH FREAKING MOBS I ALREADY GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE STOP PUNCHING ME IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD!"
Usually with ample bear raging going on.
jasonkidd1234 Dec 13th 2009 6:14PM
Oh...that was a bug.
I tried tanking my first dungeon on my fresh Warrior (deadmines) and thought I was doing something wrong because the mobs kept running behind me, forcing me to chase them down and turn around. Almost caused a wipe a few times.
Kanap Dec 11th 2009 5:16PM
I had mobs I was tanking go behind me for no real reason, i was like "wtf? its a rogue?"
Bufordtk Dec 11th 2009 5:23PM
When are frost spec mages going to get the non dispelling water elemental? I was so looking forward to this.
Beatphreek Dec 11th 2009 5:28PM
Glyph of Eternal Water does this. It's in the game... it works... go to the AH and get a glyph. If you have a scribe, go to the Inscription Supply vendor in Dalaran and buy it (limited supply item so you may need to check back).
