Hotfixes incoming for some DPS and tanks, not hunters or priests

- Hunger for Blood will increase damage by 10% instead of 15%. Assassination rogues needed damage, but they got too much, and this will bring them back. Sorry rogues -- the tooltip, we're also told, might not change right away.
- Scourge Strike will crit only once, not on the shadow portion of the damage. "This change just proved to be too bursty in PvP and provide too much sustained damage in raids." He also gives lots more explanation of the change on the forums -- this one will be discussed quite a bit.
- Rolling Corruptions will no longer use the initial haste value indefinitely. More of a bugfix than a change, says GC -- the haste value should drop out to normal after a few ticks of the spell.

I've heard speccing into "Enduring Winter" causes it to bug out and last about 5 seconds.
Ironic, considering thats what gives your raid replenishment :S
This may be what your talking about.
Thander Dec 12th 2009 12:27PM
It's in the game but doesn't function as a true permanent pet.
1. It stays out even when mounted, agroing all the mobs below as you fly.
2. He disappears when teleporting/changing continents. Anytime you see a loading screen.
3. The spell still has a normal cooldown unlike Warlock and Hunter pets. (may not be a bug)
The cooldown I think should be changed to be like the Unholy DK ghoul. Make it a 30 second cooldown that starts after he his killed or unsummoned. (only with the glyph)

The Mut hotfix was a little disappointing, but even with it my DPS is up almost 25%. It's weird to see Instant Poison as my highest damage ability, even above normal melee.
Philip Dec 11th 2009 7:38PM
As a fellow rogue I must ask you this question:
Does instant poison, doing that much more dmg (even over normal melee attacks) strike you as "working as intended"?
Even as combat it sometimes outdps's sinister strike.
I predict this wont last too very long.
Death Knight Dec 11th 2009 5:29PM
Hahaha Have you even seen the new scourge strike hot fix? I am max critting for 6k....IN full 232-245 gear. Its actually hitting for less than what 3.2 Scourge strike was hitting more. Unholy is now unviable for Pve single target dps and Blizzard has succesfully taken away any viable spec from arena. THEY had 2 fucking months to fix this and what did they do? let every death knight see the changes on live respec, regem, regear to go unholy..then 36 hours later they change it to something that is utter shit. Give us back 3.2 SS.

Hal Dec 11th 2009 6:28PM
Boo hoo. Alliance pallies lost the ability to bubble into the horde inn a long time ago.
Nobody ever grabs your half-filled wine goblets!

Can someone explain the corruption fix? I don't get it lol.
fatherland Dec 11th 2009 5:57PM
Pre-fix you could equip a high haste weapon, cast Corruption, then switch to a high sp weapon. As long as you cast Corruption again before it rolled off, it would keep the original haste rating, but add in the sp from your other weapon as well.
DeathPaladin Dec 11th 2009 5:58PM
Glyph of Quick Decay has Corruption tick faster with haste. Affliction has a talent called Everlasting Affliction which causes Drain Life and Haunt to reset the duration of Corruption. So Warlocks could use items like Potion of Speed or Hyperspeed Accelerators to boost their haste, cast Corruption, then use Haunt or Drain Life to sustain a faster-ticking Corruption indefinitely.
I presume these changes have Corruption check the caster's haste every couple ticks, and adjust the tick speed accordingly if it is lower than when it last checked.
Lemons Dec 11th 2009 5:59PM
lawl, it's like weapon swapping for casters.

I don't mean any offence, but posts such as these make me want to take WoW.com off my RSS feed.
Not because of the content mind you, but this news has been in the grapevine everywhere else for... over a day?
Maybe you guys could separate the feed into news, which is broken on many other sources far earlier, and the blog posts. Or, you know, report on things when they happen.
Azizrael Dec 11th 2009 7:01PM
WoW.com is not a WoW news site, it's a blog about WoW.
Posts, you may or may not have noticed, go up hourly through the working day (on EST schedule) - on the hour, or within a minute or two. Sometimes, major breaking news goes live instantly, but it would have to be something like "Arthas fight is opening up tomorrow after all".
There are plenty of sites with blue trackers and roundups like World of Raids, MMO Champion and so on who break stuff like this - that's what they're for. When WoW.com reports something, it's more "in case you missed it, this is happening or has already happened" roundup format. There's room in the wide world of WoW for both.
Neirin Dec 11th 2009 8:40PM
Actually, if you compare the time stamp on the blue post talking about the first 3 fixes and the time stamp on the article, this was still posted well within 24 hours (20 hrs for the first set, 17 for the ammo, and about 15 for SW:P). Now, maybe you need your news within minutes, but even a 24hr news cycle is pretty fast. For people like myself who only check WoW.com and other WoW-related websites 1-2 times a day rather than refreshing a blue tracker every few minutes, this is perfectly fine. In fact, I'd say this is better because it gathers all the info in one convenient place.
Also, for what it's worth, MMO-Champion posted the same info 9 minutes AFTER WoW.com
Neirin Dec 11th 2009 8:47PM
Grr. WTB edit button.
The time stamps on MMO-champ are way off for me. It said the date was tomorrow o.O must have done something weird in my settings somewhere.
Mike Dec 11th 2009 8:50PM
@Azizrael My apologies, I hadn't really considered that WoW.com would follow timing regulations like any publisher. I would imagine almost everything you post has to go through some form of editorial process.
@Neirin I was specifically referring to the RSS feed, which for many people is a read-when-it's-published method (since we're notified of when something is published, rather than having to manually check). And I was specifically referring to Bluetrackers (though for alternate reasons I'm fairly certain I'm going to take them out too; there was about 40 trash posts informing people of bans* after complaining about the Scourge Strike nerf, when the daily MMOC post covers the blue posts that are even semi-interesting to read).
*Note that I fully support those bans, those people were quite rude, but I don't need to read about them (it really angries up the blood when people get pissed off because they treat the game as a job; it's mostly PvPers).
FifthDream Dec 11th 2009 6:28PM
Is it just me, or are some mobs dying twice, lately? It could just be
my imagination, but sometimes i turn around and think i see one die... again. o.O
Rylka Dec 12th 2009 8:08AM
Just about every MOB I have killed so far does its death animation and then bounces right back up to do its death animation a second time.
I guess we're just hitting them extra hard now after the patch. So hard that they bounce.
This must be where the phrase, "He up and died" comes from :) You kill a target so hard it dies, then gets up and dies again from the over-awesomeness.
Expect a patch soon to nerf our awesomeness back to pre-patch levels. : )
Pam Dec 11th 2009 6:32PM
When are they gonna fix the "moving w/ my up arrow key actually moves me at an angle bug. I have never had that issue until 3.3...makes it really annoying when trying to move out of stuff....
Chris A Dec 11th 2009 6:46PM
There's an option to fix that under interface I believe.
