WRUP: We're just that predictable edition
Ah, patch 3.3! Between Icecrown Citadel and the Dungeon Finder Tool, most of the team is too busy chain running dungeons to bother to let us know what they're playing this weekend. But at least some of our stalwart crew of WoW-playing adventurers managed to get their heads out of the game for long enough to let us know what they're up to -- and, no surprise, most of them are hanging out in Icecrown and collecting loot using the Dungeon Finder. The suspense lies only in the details -- which you may read on to see for yourself.
- Adam Holisky (@adamholisky): Since I've geared my paladin tank up in two nights, I'm going to be gearing my hunter and rogue up next. Seriously, Blizzard just made an addicting game more addicting. 20 minutes of nothing to do? Hey, how about a quick heroic and some badges.
- Alex Ziebart (@aziebart): Gearing up pretty much every single one of my alts via spamming the LFG tool. Also, relearning how to eat and drink after my latest adventure in dentistry.
- Allison Robert: Probably healing a Rusted drake run for guild alts, possibly an ICC-10, and continuing to enjoy the new LFG!
- C. Christian Moore (@TheArenaGuy): Quad-boxing. Yep. They're 65 right now. Hopefully they'll be 70+ by the end of the weekend, and 80 soon after that.
- Dan O'Halloran: Running Icecrown 5-man Forge of Souls in WoW on Friday night with my usual crew of misfits. BTW, "let's keep throwing our corpses at the boss until our armor turns red" is not a viable tactic.
- Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb): Running the new 5-man heroics every day until I get my battered hilt, then random dungeon running my ass off to get more t9 for my off-spec on my death knight. Or I may random dungeon with my 79 Druid instead to get him geared up to heal raids and heroics. I also still need to get a Noth group together for the weekly raid quest. That's right baby, I got my WoW groove back.
- Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra): Trying out a new kitteh build from a Twitter friend, drawing comics, a birthday party, and frantically starting/finished Christmas shopping. T__T
- Lisa Poisso (@emused): Still patiently leveling my paladin through the middle levels, sweetly oblivious to the slammin' speed-run commotion elsewhere in the game...
- Matthew Rossi: All shaman, all the time until he's fully geared to heal 10 man ICC.
- Matt Low (@mattycus): Like the rest, making repeated use of the LFG tool to get some healing gear for my alts. Cleared out ICC on my mains and now it's time to do it on my other characters.
- Michael Sacco (@mikesacco): Getting my alts their well-deserved Tier 9 and my main his Perky Pug.
- Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel): We're having actual weather right now in Los Angeles and it's made me feel rather icky. So, I'll be cuddled up in a comfy chair, with a blanket, some tea, a lap kitty or two and some dailies.
- Zach Yonzon (@battlemasters): Back with a vengeance! The game seems fresh again after a long, unintended hiatus from consistent play. My gameplay for the most part has rusted considerably. New realm, new name, new race, new guild... and a new class to master. Uh, so who's that Arthas fellow again?

I learned that when my cat walks all over my keyboard, it doesn't really impact my play at all. She's a pretty good healer :)
I am a little concerned about the economic impact of the new lfg system. With so many people gearing up through dungeon runs, there has to be an associated shift in the economy. Have other people noticed any favorite AH item isn't as rosy as it used to be?

Glyphs started sellig better after patch.
I think soon we'll see immense inflation on enchanting mats, since everyone and their dog is gearing up (and really, the DE roll doesn't make that up so well).
Zinn Dec 12th 2009 10:43AM
All those ilevel 200 crafted items have been on the decline for some time now, since they're just not worth the mats. I guess this is the ultimate nail in the coffin though.
johnshelley92 Dec 12th 2009 10:54AM
I Think that if Blizzard implemented some sort of upgrade option for those crafted epics (with required regents of dream shards, abyss crystals and such) and it upped the stats for the item and made them worth having again, the in game economy might benefit more.
Then again, they're doing something like it in Cataclysm, but thats a bit of a wait.

i don't know about you guys, but I've found that there aren't enough epic gems on the AH anymore which is driving the costs way up. I saw an orange gem going for 300g... 300g! I wish I could put numbers in capitals to emphasize what a crazy price that is... I mean #))G. seriously, it should've been something more like 200 gold.
For the record it was a nice gem. it was http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40155#comments.
But at least on my server, the prices of epic gem cuts have risen to meet the dwindling supply.

"I learned that when my cat walks all over my keyboard, it doesn't really impact my play at all."
Let me guess... Paladin?
npanth Dec 12th 2009 2:09PM
LOL, I thought rogues were the ones who had a "I win" button.
... yes, I play a paladin :P
kooda Dec 12th 2009 3:43PM
LOL i was running BRD earlier and a lock died because his cat ran across the keyboard i guess cats are better healers than DPS'ers

I'm going to wait around to talk to a GM about my vanishing Restored Quel'Delar in Sunwell. The damn thing vanished on my while I was reading the flavor text in the chat box! I'm not going to restart this quest line! >_
Nazgûl Dec 12th 2009 10:48AM
I'm assuming you mean the actual item that you pick up after throwing into the Sunwell, correct?
If so, I had the same problem. Abandoned quest, picked it back up, and it fixed it.
tonz0phun Dec 12th 2009 2:10PM
Awesome! That worked! Woot, awesome healing sword!
macster Dec 12th 2009 12:28PM
Have Hobbs and Belt finally destroyed each other?
clundgren Dec 12th 2009 1:19PM
Quad-boxing in BGs should be banned. Seriously. It's a really douchey practice, and I hope Moore isn't joining it.
Four Dec 12th 2009 3:16PM
Really? I find it a fun challenge to go up against multi boxers in BGs. Cut off the head and the rest die. ( or just fear-bomb em to get them too spread out to be effective.) Win or Lose its fun.
Four
clundgren Dec 12th 2009 3:34PM
Yeah, going up against 4 linked Shamen is fun and fair; good luck on that. Multi-boxing in bgs is like twinking taken to the ultimate extreme. Remember when twinks used to claim that they didn't enjoying winning unfair fights and really just wanted to go against other twinks? How many of those guys kept doing BGs after Blizzard took them at their word? So maybe we should have BGs for quad-boxers only and see how many of them still get off on the experience.
If you get off on dominating others in completely unfair situations, then multi-boxing is for you. You probably also hang around looking for flagged grey players to show your uberness against.
But given your handle, "Four," your opinion is not surprising.
Four Dec 12th 2009 5:37PM
The handle Four came from the fact that i am the fourth generation in my family to share the same name. So nice try, but no i don't multi-box.
