You didn't read my post if you think this is "steal it from you before you steal it from me"

As I stated, you tell the group before you do it. Everyone knows to roll need and this way you don't have someone take it unfairly.

If someone actually "needs" it, which I have yet to ever see happen, they are still perfectly capable of letting the group know beforehand, in which case you would pass.
