The Daily Quest: Catching up to patch 3.3

- OutDPS continues their constant flow of excellent Hunter content with an updated guide to pre-raid hunter gear which now includes loot from patch 3.3.
- Having trouble tanking the Halls of Reflection? Righteous Defense has the solution.
- The Lion Guard has some ideas on how to make Holy Paladins more interactive, and wants to know what you think.
- Are you a mage using Scorchio? Having some problems with it in patch 3.3? You're not alone. Empowered Fire has some workarounds for you.
- Hunters aren't the only ones with a gear guide for patch 3.3. Penance Priest has one for assassination rogues, too! No, I'm kidding, it's for discipline priests.

I've been using that little cubby behind Falric since day one. It makes the waves of mobs so much easier to control. The only issue I've noticed is that some of the mobs like going THROUGH the wall straight to whoever is in the corner of it. So keeping an eye on that and killing the higher priority mobs first is all you'd really have to worry about.

The only problem with H HoF is that people have gotten too used to aoe'ing mobs down and running to each boss without having to think. "OH NOOOOO's, we have to use tactics, it makes meh brain hurts..."
It's the final dungeon before cata and it's a heroic mode. You ppl really want something that you can one shot on day one easily where its boring after one or two runs? If anything it should be harder. Your getting top end gear, you should have to work for it.

Its amazing that people still havent figured HoR out yet.

TBH there is no reason to go to either side of the room for this...especially as a paladin. I stand at the door and refuse to do it any other way. Concecration + Holy Wrath = win. Also when did people forget about CC? If my shield is down and I can't pull the caster to me, I just have them CC'd.
I also run this on my priest and will not let people tank on the sides (as i always die first.) At the door I can stand behind the tank so he has time to react and then I shackle the caster/hunter.
Easy as pie.

Nothing makes a hunter happier than a caster refusing to stand in the AOE- freezing arrow then wyvern sting! The arrow gives us a free lock and load too- one that won't trigger the internal cooldown :)

this fire mage is hoping the scorchio problem gets fixed soon one way or the other. i tried some of Empowered Fire's suggestions, and it's just not working quite right for me. : ( greatfather winter, please bring a scorchio fix for your fire mages this year!

MiksScrollingBattleText manages to show the barrage proc and that's good enough for me for the time being.

Is Need to Know not working or did you try PowerAuras?
Frank Dec 14th 2009 10:00PM
thanks for the recommendation, zweitblom. some guildies of mine recommended scrolling battle text, too. and Aislinana, i tried Need To Know, but i couldn't seem to get it configured to suit my tastes. i was looking at PowerAuras today, and that might work, but then i clued in that perhaps one of my other addons might be able to handle this, too — for instance, i have MageAlert installed to handle some other things, so maybe i can tweak it to handle this, too.

I've always liked healing a paladin tank using the corner method on my shaman. Everyone is grouped up, so I can spam CH when there's party-wide damage, remove the curse, throw a quick Riptide onto the DPS that's getting his face punched in, what have you. Granted, different methods work for different people.

I am hoping they fix the Scorchio thing though. NTK is awesome but Scorchio handles stuff much differently.
