Felicia Day
told us back at BlizzCon that she was going to go undercover for a little while as
The Guild's latest season wrapped up, but undercover for this woman seems to mean that she's only in two TV shows and prepping for a comic book release. She showed up
in last night's Lie to Me episode,
singing, and in
this interview over at Newsarama from the Video Game Awards with Sandeep Parikh (who himself just showed up in
Tiki Bar TV -- slightly NSFW, language) she says she's still working on the unfortunately canceled Dollhouse as well. So that's where
Eliza Dushku got her addiction from.
She also says that the Dark Horse published Guild comic book is due out in spring of next year --
Jim Rugg is working on the art right now -- and fans of The Guild may even get a little Christmas present from the show and Microsoft. We'll keep an eye out for that for sure. So even though we're in between seasons (and we assume that season 4 is upcoming next year, even though we haven't heard an official announcement on that yet), there's lots of Guild goodness to go around.

I want to wear her like a hat.

You guys are creepy...
Hehehe.... Dec 15th 2009 7:18PM
Nerd love shows in 2 ways- both creepy and slightly disturbing.
Lord N Dec 15th 2009 7:53PM
I'd drink her bathwater.

A comic? How can a 5-10 minute per episode web show be a comic? Maybe they'll get penny arcade or the people who do the stuff on Red vs. Blue to do it.

Alright, prepare to downvote me:
I have tried watching the guild. I really, really WANT to like it, but it's on a thin line between chuckle-worthy and unfunny. I'm really sorry, but I just find it hard to like a show with a great premise not be that funny. I really want to like it.
Downvotes start here.

Don't worry, I feel the same way.
I've got nothing against the cast members or anything, but honestly I've tried it and I can't seem to find it funny at all. =/ I'm a little baffled at the explosive popularity of it.

I think maybe I'm the only person who finds Felicia Day to be extremely annoying. I agree with Ben as well...I have never found The Guild particularly funny. There are a few funny moments, but overall it's mediocre and Felicia just bothers me, somehow.
CM Dec 15th 2009 7:47PM
I just don't get the fascination with this show. It's boring, okay...it's downright stupid. Felicia Day has become this common name that gets tossed around as a Wow celeb, but she's not even remotely attractive, and really not a very good actress.
It's like standards go way down when people create things for the wow population. Outside of Wow, she'd just be another idiot making youtube videos. But the Wow community has leeched onto this episodic pile of crap and is making it into more than it really is.
Nazgûl Dec 15th 2009 8:15PM
Because attractiveness definitely = celebrity and talent.
ben Dec 15th 2009 8:36PM
wait a sec, didnt i say the exact same thing? why don't i get a downvote?

Quoted for truth.

@ben: No, you didn't just say the exact same thing. You said you don't like the show. A perfectly valid opinion and a good expression of it on your part. I don't have to agree with it to respect it. CM, on the other hand, said it's crap (an objective statement) as opposed to just saying he doesn't like it (a subjective statement). Since preferences for entertainment are subjective, you've said something intelligent, whereas CM said something idiotic, and not the same thing at all. He also said she's an idiot. What justification for that? Because she made a show he doesn't like? How does the fact that her sense of humor doesn't match his prove anything about her intelligence? Again, CM is making idiotic comments, not valid criticism. There's virtually no overlap between what you said and what CM said.
I don't like the show, either, tbh. I agree with your comments, but I'm not stupid enough to agree with anything CM said...

Her appearance on Lie To Me was exceptional

Awful, just awful..

Certainly not trying to salt Ms. Day's game, in fact I'm proud of her for marketing herself as well as she has, and I love knowing there are other nrrd girls out there (holla), but yeah. I can't get into the guild. Maybe just because I've been spoiled by access to good comedy for too long, who knows.
Not complaining about The Guild posts on this blog, or anything like that. Just voicing my meh.
pudd Dec 15th 2009 8:45PM
I really disagree with a lot of you guys. I find The Guild amazingly funny in a really 'oh god, these people are so pathetic' kind a way. At the end of every episode, I find myself laughing hard and rewatching parts all the time. Oh, and trust, I watch plenty of comedy (no not Dave Cook!)
Maybe it's that you don't relate to her as much? As a chick, I find my life mirroring Codex's life way more often then it reasonably should.
floof Dec 15th 2009 8:53PM
Haha, the internet is so silly. The only place I could ever be accused of not being a chick. Trust: I am the girliest of girls. And not to belabor anything, but I don't relate to the premise of the show. Good comedy doesn't HAVE to ring true to life, though - I just find The Guild pretty profoundly unfunny. Different strokes.
