Dropped for me the first day, in the first instance on the first trash pull.
My guild members all passed to me because they know I love this kinda of stuff and because there is no tanking weapon at the end of it our tank (my fiancee) didn't want it.
I promptly raced through the very cool quest line and got that sweet healing mace.
I'm so rolling need in pug's so I can return the favour to my guildmates.

A much better way to thank your guildmates would be to heal them through the heroics until they get their own.
I know you don't know the pugs personally, but they happen to be people too and some of them may not have the hilt yet because they kindly passed to their own guildies. Or perhaps they simply weren't as lucky as you were.
What you are saying you're doing out of the kindness of your heart is considered ninjaing by most WoW players, and no objective observer is going to think highly of you for doing it.

Everytime I go into a pug on the US realms ... silence. No one even says hi to each other. They are just there to use each other to get what they want. You want emblems of frost, he wants emblems of triumph, she wants this piece of loot and I want the Battered Hilt for my guildmates.
Bubble your comment on pug being people too ... I'm sorry but in a civilised world people working together at least say hi. Pugs aren't people - they are a means to an end.
