As a side note it seems that heirloom gear has a very large negative effect on what dungeons you can queue for. I replaced my heirloom staff with a side-grade and it instantly doubled the amount of heroics I could enter, and expect the same to happen when I get this chest replaced :)

Heirlooms are ilevel 1. Even trash greens would be better.

I would suggest sticking some gear that is worse than the heirlooms on (even off spec) queueing, and then switching back to your better gear. Be sure that the gear that you are switching to is in fact worse than what you have because otherwise you may be going into an instance that you are in fact unprepared for.

And be careful, it counts the gear in your bag too! You have to bank your level 1 heirlooms or mail them off to prevent this. we had a person using two and she couldn't queue despite everything else being 187 or higher.

My mage is currently using an heirloom item (trinket) and about half the gear is ilevel 200. I still never had any trouble joining any dungeons (except for the wait time).
