Hot Topic introduces new WoW merchandise, cute model

Included among the many newcomers to the line are "spray-painted" Alliance and Horde logo shirts, faction insignia wallets, Starcraft II and Diablo III shirts, hoodies with a neat piece of art depicting an Alliance/Horde battle (replete with male model rocking a worrisome mustache) and, for the ladies in your life, a cute purple "Fight Like a Girl" t-shirt with a set of the highly feminine night elf hunter and blood elf paladin. That's right -- now you too can have a qtbelf on your chest, or the chest of a female WoWer near and dear to your heart. As long as she's a size small or medium, anyway. The other sizes are sold out.
Speaking of near and dear to my heart, that model! Aye aye aye. For her, if that shirt was available in mens' sizes, I'd buy it even if it said "I play as a female character in World of Warcraft." I mean, I do. Several of them, but. You know. Still.
All the new pieces are available at HotTopic.com or at your local Hot Topic store. Remember, those places are guarded by level 14 elite scenesters. Bring friends.

@elven
but makeup on a dude is hot?
elvendude Dec 17th 2009 7:22PM
@tatsumasa: I avoided saying it for fear of being flamed a bit...but, yes, when done correctly. (I'm not talking drag. Try putting on mascara and nothing else sometime and see how many compliments you get about your eyes.)
=D
A brief history of makeup: in most cultures, its origins are originally as a sexual attraction enhancer for men, as women are already more aesthetically appealing to most humans. (e, men need the help, women didn't as much.) The most recent example I can think of off the top of my head would be the profusion of male makeup use to cover skin disorders in post-industrial Taiwan.

re: makeup thing -
Guys who say "I hate makeup on women" have to realize why no girl will ever take it seriously. Trust me, if I took the average guy who says this and showed him a lineup of ten women, some wearing makeup and some not, there's no way he'd be able to correctly identify which is which for all ten. Or even half.
We understand the sentiment, but the statement itself is pretty laughable.

Originally, I believe makeup was most commonly used in warfare as camouflage for ambushes, warpaint to intimidate opponents on the battlefield, & as an important part of tribal rituals and ceremonial practices. Sad how it's devolved into what it is and has been for such a very long time. This of course, depends on how you choose to classify makeup as you may choose not to include body painting in the same category.
If you do, however, note the similarities between creations on the internet & the previous creations in history. Since things move much faster with the easy access of information and the rarely regulated level of free speech given to those with computers, you are gifted/cursed to live in a time where you can see the creation of something wonderful *and* its decline into something tragic & bland.
Summary: The human race has always had the unique ability to bastardize good things, and now technology allows us to do so even faster. While stating such, I come off as supercilious and use many recondite words. Indubitably.

you know that scene in family guy where renee zellweger is animated with a face that looks like an anteater?

Hot topic has some nice ones but the best wow related tshirts are the legendary class tshirts. Sadly not every class is represented but if you are, or know a Warlock, Hunter, Druid, Mage or Warrior.. YOU ARE IN LUCK. Think Affliction meets World of Warcraft;

Oteo Dec 17th 2009 5:30PM
Where's my "Fight Like a Girl" shirt with a female orc, dwarf, tauren, or troll? :(
Idle Dec 17th 2009 5:33PM
Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a female dwarf. It is a myth, much like the tauren rogue or the gnome warrior.
Barinthos Dec 17th 2009 5:34PM
Those aren't girls. Those are women!
Sarah Dec 17th 2009 5:51PM
Here, here. I agree with Oteo. Real girl gamers don't limit themselves to the "pretty" races.
birdtongue Dec 18th 2009 2:05PM
no love for us Undead ladies? :,(
yippyyp Dec 31st 2009 3:44PM
@Sarah
Why did you put pretty in speech marks? "..."
Its generally accepted that those are the pretty races.
Also, why is it almost looked down upon for someone to pick a race that they believe is pretty?
Its like all the girl gamers playing female tauren and dwarves think they're better people for playing ugly characters :S
Don't mean to start a flame war, just curious.
shoomlah Dec 18th 2009 4:39PM
@yippyyp
I think Sarah put "pretty" in quotation marks because it's a subjective term- I know the blood elves are mainstream attractive, yes, but I much prefer the aesthetics of my dwarf lady.
And here here to equal representations of wow races@

I never thought I'd say this, but I wish we had Hot Topic in Canada.
Kyle Smith Dec 17th 2009 5:35PM
small and medium are not sold out? Does that say anything about the wow community?
Just saying
Barinthos Dec 17th 2009 5:38PM
They'd rather have loose comfortable fitting shirts instead of constricting cloth prisons?
kia Dec 17th 2009 6:00PM
Maybe they just have big boobs?
Even at my skinniest I had to buy shirts in L thanks to the cleavage God gave me. So... yeah. Just sayin.
reswab Dec 17th 2009 6:45PM
I agree Kyle! Tee hee

Maybe they do have big bewbs at that. Big jelly jiggly floppy man bewbs to go with the XXXXXXXXXXXL sized T-Shirt.
Ewok Dec 18th 2009 9:42AM
Nah. it just means the sizing is ridiculously small. I'm a small/medium in mens shirts and a Large in womens.
