Why couldn't wow.com have picked up any of those artists for a comic strip instead of Kelly Aarons? Look at the art - it's fantastic. Her art isn't. And I'm sure that if wow.com would offer any of them her position, they won't turn it down. Not to mention the comic might look good every Tuesday instead of an orc that looks like a blood elf, a "tauren rogue" that looks exactly like her female tauren character in her other comic she stopped doing, etc.

I like her art. It's very nice for comics, which is the medium we're looking at.The stuff above are in a hyper-realistic style, as a one-off image. It takes a lot of time to make things look that way.Your comparing apples to oranges. Both are nice for their medium.

Three things...One, the art on the contest page are NOT fan art. They were used as examples by Blizzard, but those were all commissioned art pieces for the WoW TCG. They were made by professional artists and each piece of work likely takes up more time than your average webcomic. Two, sequential art and pin-ups are two different things. Someone good at making posters won't necessarily have the storytelling adeptness required for comic book art.''Three, you may not like Kelly Aarons' art, but that's a purely personal preference. Many people appreciate and like her art, and it lends itself very, very well to the stories she tells. To declare her art as not fantastic is fine, but understand that your opinion is not necessarily shared by many.
