I felt the same about 3.1. Mainly because I'm a pretty casual player. Really the only thing it added for me was a few daily quests. While fun, there wasn't much reason to care about doing the quests. Whether I did them or not, it didn't help any "war effort".

Also, the rewards were largely useless for a "main" character. I had already gotten ilevel 200 weapon and offhand from early raiding and heroic badges. I was already exalted with all the horde factions. So I could buy some small pets and mounts, flavor stuff but not useful.

So I took a break from the game and came back just before 3.3 came out =)
